NotDC is a Sega Dreamcast emulator for the PlayStation 3. It runs as homebrew on a PS3 with CFW or HEN. It is built with the open-source PSL1GHT SDK.

Install and set up
1. Install notdc_ps3.pkg with the Package Manager on the XMB.
2. Copy dc_boot.bin to /dev_hdd0/data/NotDC/data/.
3. Optional: copy dc_flash.bin to the same folder. Without it, NotDC makes a flash (USA, English, NTSC).
4. Copy your disc images to /dev_hdd0/data/NotDC/discs/ or to a USB drive.
5. Start NotDC from the Game column and select a disc.

NotDC does not include a BIOS or any game.

Remote Play the other way round: your PC streams its screen and sound to the PS3, and the PS3 controller drives the PC as a gamepad, or as a mouse and keyboard for the desktop. Based on mohasi's Cell Stream, and it installs alongside it under its own title ID (TEECRPMX1).

- Full HD up to 1920x1080 at 60 fps (about 40-47 ms on a wired link; 720p60 around 25-30 ms)
- Record straight to /dev_hdd0, with sound; recordings show up under XMB > Video
- On-screen list of every control
- Vsync pacing: the PS3 tells the server its TV's refresh rate, cutting latency with vsync from about 72 to 40 ms
- Native Linux server (Ubuntu 24.04+ / Debian 13+), and a Windows 10/11 server with a full settings window
- NVIDIA NVENC, Intel/AMD hardware encoding, or x264 on the CPU

You need the PC half too. Get the server from the TEE PS3 Remoteplay releases (Linux .deb 1.1.1, Windows installer 1.0.1). The server works with mohasi's original Cell Stream app as well.

Tip: use 59.94 fps (the console's own rate), and Ethernet if you can.

1.1.0
- Vsync: the console paces itself to its TV, latency with vsync down from ~72 ms to ~40 ms
- MPEG-2 test codec support
- Needs server 1.1.0 or newer for the new features; older servers still work as before

A YouTube client for the PS3, forked from mohasi's Yo! Player. No ads and no Google account needed.

Heads up: TEE Vanced uses the same title ID as Yo Player! (YOPLAYER1), so installing it replaces Yo Player! on your console, and installing Yo Player! again puts the original back.

- Icon sidebar: Search, Trending, Subscriptions, Continue watching, Playlists, Watch Later, History and Settings
- A settings screen on the console (the original only has settings.txt)
- SponsorBlock with three choices per category: skip automatically, skip on request (a button pops up during the segment), or keep
- Your own playlists (local, up to 12 lists of 60 videos): L3 adds the selected video
- Watch progress on thumbnails, Continue watching and a history list
- PS button for DualShock 4 / DualSense pads: SELECT on the home screen or L3 during playback
- Paged results, search history, autoplay, chapter skipping

Turn off any VPN on the console, YouTube refuses playback through one.

0.12 beta
- Your own playlists
- Fixed: settings were reset on every launch
- Fixed: the skip-by-choice button could act on a stale frame

Using it on a PS3
1- Download the latest salsa64.pkg and install it with the XMB Package Manager (HEN or CFW). It shows up as "Salsa64" under Games.
2- Copy your own ROM dumps (.z64, .v64 or .n64, any byte order, up to 64 MB) to /dev_hdd0/salsa64 (for example over webMAN MOD's FTP) or to a salsa64 folder at the root of a FAT32 USB stick.
3- Start Salsa64 and pick a game from the menu.

N64 DualShock 3
Analog stick Left stick
C buttons Right stick
D-pad D-pad
A / B × / □
Z L2
L / R L1 / R1
Start START
START + SELECT opens the pause menu: resume, save or load a state, cheats, «Imagen» (filter, aspect, overscan and internal scale of the running game, saved per game if you want), FPS counter and quit. Quitting asks first; the question can be turned off in Options («Confirmar al salir»).

In the game list, □ opens the cheats of the selected ROM (Project64 or RetroArch .cht files in /dev_hdd0/salsa64/cheats) and SELECT its own settings (aspect, filter, overscan). PNG box art in /dev_hdd0/salsa64/covers shows next to the game info.
Options also set the aspect (4:3 or 16:9), the image filter (smooth, sharp, scanlines, or one of the five experimental CRT filters) and the menu language (Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese).

The PS button pauses emulation and sound while the system menu is open; the game resumes where it was when the menu closes.
Saves go to /dev_hdd0/salsa64/saves, one file per game.
Optional text files in /dev_hdd0/salsa64 change the button mapping (controles.cfg), the save type per game (guardado.cfg), audio (audio.cfg) and overscan cropping (overscan.cfg); see the guide.

A PS3 homebrew app that checks the console's hardware from the TV, with no PC and no opening the console. Six modules behind one home screen:

1- Drive: IDENTIFY and SMART of the internal HDD or SSD, the attribute table with vendor names, a health line, the short and the extended self-test, and a file speed test.
2- Cooling: the Cell and RSX temperatures, the fan duty, and a timed load test with a temperature curve.
3- Controller: stick rest offset (drift) and circle coverage, every button with its pressure, the sixaxis sensors, the rumble motors.
4- Display: the video output, the visible area of your TV, full-screen test patterns (with a 1-pixel stripe test for TV scaling) and a lag timer.
5- Transfer: the 64 MB file test on a USB stick, a 50 MB download over plain HTTP, and a LAN test where the app is the server and a PC sends it data.
6-Memory: pattern tests on the user memory (XDR) and on the RSX memory (GDDR3).

Help (TRIANGLE on the home screen) has a QR code that opens a prefilled GitHub issue with the compatibility report, and a short guide.

The home screen shows the last result of each module from a small state file and sends no command to the hardware. Every result goes into one text report on the console; SELECT copies it and the freeze journal to a USB stick.

The app draws at 1920 x 1080, pixel for pixel at 1080p output: the text is Inter, rendered at the exact size it is shown, and every screen sits inside the visible area of your TV, which you set once at the first start. At 720p the console scales the picture down and the text stays readable. At 480p or 576p the text is small: the layouts are made for HD.

Basic usage

1. Install the .pkg from the latest release on a PS3 with HEN (or CFW, untested). The package is called "SalsaDS".

2. Copy dumps of games you own (your own backups, never downloads) to the PS3 into /dev_hdd0/salsads/, with any file name ending in .nds. The cartridge encryption is not emulated, so each dump has to be a decrypted .nds image.

3. Start the program. It shows a list of the .nds files in that folder (d-pad or left stick to move, L1/R1 to jump a page, X to open a game, O to leave SalsaDS). If there is no .nds file it offers a built-in load test instead. The last game you opened is remembered.

4. Inside a game, hold SELECT + START for 1 second to return to the list. Saves (the cartridge save chip) are kept per game in /dev_hdd0/salsads/saves/.sav; the log is /dev_hdd0/salsads/nucleo.log. The save chip type (EEPROM, FRAM or Flash, and its size) is chosen automatically per game (built-in table, then detection from the game's own SPI commands) and logged; to force it, add a line like IRD=flash512k to /dev_hdd0/salsads/guardado.cfg.

Other options, all plain files in /dev_hdd0/salsads/:

controles.cfg: remaps the DualShock 3 buttons and the touch pointer. By default the sticks, the d-pad, L2 (screen layout) and R2 (touch) work as described in src/frontend/dspad.h.

rom-paged: an empty file; reads the ROM in pages instead of loading it whole (done automatically for ROMs larger than 64 MB).

audio.cfg: a line original = si makes the audio output quantize to 10 bits like the original console.

Changes in 1.01
- Fix IPF Disk Support
- Added External USB Drives
- Fix FTP Server
- Added Turbo On-Screen Indicator
- Fix bug

Quick Start: Play in 3 Simple Steps

1. Install the Package
Download the latest uae4all2hd_PS3_v1.00.pkg from the Releases page.
Put the file on a USB stick (or download it to /dev_hdd0 via any setup you already use).
On your PS3 XMB, choose Install Package Files and select the package.
Launch UAE4All2 HD from the XMB.

Note
A PS3 with the ability to install homebrew packages is required.

2. Add Kickstart BIOS ROMs
Like the original Amiga computers, the emulator requires Kickstart ROM files to boot. Place your legally acquired Kickstart ROMs into:

/dev_hdd0/game/UAEH00001/USRDIR/kickstarts/
The app automatically imports them into /dev_hdd0/uae4all/kickstarts/ (persistent storage that survives reinstalls). You can also transfer the ROMs with the built-in FTP server (see below) — no USB stick needed.

Tip
The two essential Kickstart files that boot the vast majority of games are:

- kick13.rom (Kickstart 1.3 for Amiga 500 games)
- kick31.rom (Kickstart 3.1 for Amiga 1200 AGA games and WHDLoad titles)

3. Add Games and Launch
Put your games inside /dev_hdd0/uae4all/whdload/ (WHDLoad .lha packages, auto-extracted on launch) or copy floppy images (.adf) to a folder of your choice.
Open the Game Library and press X to launch with one click.

Supported Amiga Systems
- Amiga 500 & 500+: OCS and ECS chipsets, Motorola 68000 CPU, 512 KB Chip RAM + Fast RAM expansion.
- Amiga 600: ECS chipset, Motorola 68000 CPU, IDE hard disk support, 2 MB Chip RAM + Fast RAM.
- Amiga 1200 (AGA): AGA 256-color chipset, Motorola 68020 CPU, 2 MB Chip RAM + up to 8 MB Fast RAM.
- Amiga CD32: CD-ROM console emulation with Akiko support (Chunky-to-Planar conversion) and CD audio playback.

Supported File Formats
- Floppy images: ADF / ADZ (and .gz compressed ADF) across 4 virtual drives (DF0–DF3).
WHDLoad games: native high-speed LHA decompressor with automatic Slave launching, automatic hardware profile (A500/A1200) and 1-click execution from the Library or the WHDLoad tab.
- Hard disks: HDF hardfiles, compressed CHD hardfiles, and directory mounts (DH0:) so you can point the Amiga at any PS3 folder.
- CD images: ISO / BIN+CUE and compressed CHD with multi-track support.
Multi-disk: M3U playlist support for multi-floppy games with in-game disk swapping.
Save states: full-state snapshots with screenshot previews across 5 slots per game.

+Prerequisites
+=============
+- A homebrew enabled PlayStation 3 console. As of now that mostly means having a custom firmware installed. Obtaining and installing such a software is out of the scope of this document. Sorry, but youre on your own for that one.

+- At least one ScummVM supported game. The list of compatible games can be seen here: http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/

+- An USB drive.
+
+Installing
+==========

+From a computer, download the installable package of the PS3 port from ScummVM's main site. It should be a .pkg file. Copy it to an USB drive.

+After having plugged the USB drive to you PS3, the installation package should appear in the XMB under the "Games > Install Package" menu. Installing it copies ScummVM and its dependencies to your PS3's hard drive. It also adds the "Games > PlayStation 3 > ScummVM" XMB entry which is to be used to launch ScummVM.
+
+Configuring and playing games
+=============================
+The user manual describes how to add games to ScummVM and launch them : http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/User_Manual

+
+PlayStation 3 Specifics
+=======================
+Games can be launched either from an USB drive or from the internal hard drive. The internal hard drive has better performance though.
+
+Savegames are wrote in the /hdd0/game/SCUM12000/saves folder.
+
+Joypad button mapping
+=====================
+- Left stick => Mouse
+- Cross => Left mouse button
+- Circle => Right mouse button
+- Triangle => Game menu (F5)
+- Square => Escape
+- Start => ScummVMs in global game menu
+- Select => Toggle virtual keyboard
+- L1 => AGI predictive input dialog
+
+Building from source
+====================
+This port of ScummVM to the PS3 is based on SDL. It uses the open source SDK PSL1GHT.
+
+The dependencies needed to build it are :
+
+- The toolchain from https://github.com/ps3dev/ps3toolchain
+- SDL from https://github.com/zeldin/SDL_PSL1GHT
+- Scumm2VM from https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm
+
+Once all the dependencies are correctly setup, an installable package can be obtained from source by issuing the following command :
+
+./configure -host=ps3 && make ps3pkg

Installation
Four separate packages, one per engine, each with its own APPID so they coexist on the XMB and keep their own savegames and configuration.

APPID Package Installs to
CRISPDOOM CrispyDoom-1.3.pkg /dev_hdd0/game/CRISPDOOM/USRDIR/
CRISPHERE CrispyHeretic-1.3.pkg /dev_hdd0/game/CRISPHERE/USRDIR/
CRISPHEX1 CrispyHexen-1.3.pkg /dev_hdd0/game/CRISPHEX1/USRDIR/
CRISPSTRF CrispyStrife-1.3.pkg /dev_hdd0/game/CRISPSTRF/USRDIR/

Install from the XMB, then FTP your WADs into that folder. The launcher picks them up on the next boot — no configuration file to edit.

Filenames are matched case-insensitively, but the PS3 filesystem itself is case-sensitive — if a WAD is not being found, that is the first thing to check.

Doom
Drop any of these into CRISPDOOM/USRDIR/:

DOOM.WAD The Ultimate DOOM
DOOM2.WAD DOOM II: Hell on Earth
TNT.WAD Final Doom: TNT Evilution
PLUTONIA.WAD Final Doom: Plutonia
DOOM1.WAD DOOM shareware (already in the package)
FREEDOOM1.WAD Freedoom: Phase 1
FREEDOOM2.WAD Freedoom: Phase 2
FREEDM.WAD FreeDM
HACX.WAD HacX

Add-ons go in the same folder and appear as their own entries, each loaded on top of the base game it needs:

SIGIL.WAD SIGIL (needs DOOM.WAD)
SIGIL2.WAD SIGIL II (needs DOOM.WAD)
NERVE.WAD No Rest for the Living (needs DOOM2.WAD)
MASTERLEVELS.WAD Master Levels (needs DOOM2.WAD)
CHEX.WAD Chex Quest
CHEX2.WAD Chex Quest 2 (needs CHEX.WAD)

SIGIL_SHREDS.WAD and SIGIL_II_MP3.WAD are not listed separately — they are soundtrack replacements and load automatically alongside their episode when present. Their music is recorded (Ogg Vorbis or MP3) and always plays as it is, whatever the Music setting (see Music). The MP3 edition of SIGIL II (SIGIL_II_MP3_V1_0.WAD) is a complete WAD of its own and is listed as "SIGIL II (MP3)"; so is a SIGIL_II_MP3.WAD that holds maps when there is no SIGIL2.WAD beside it.

Some releases ship NERVE.WAD and MASTERLEVELS.WAD marked as IWADs rather than PWADs (the BFG and Unity re-releases do). Those show up as standalone games instead of add-ons. Both work.

Heretic
Into CRISPHERE/USRDIR/:

HERETIC.WAD Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders
HERETIC1.WAD Heretic shareware

Hexen
Into CRISPHEX1/USRDIR/:

HEXEN.WAD Hexen: Beyond Heretic
HEXDD.WAD Deathkings of the Dark Citadel (optional)

Deathkings is not a separate entry in the launcher: with HEXDD.WAD next to HEXEN.WAD, the game loads it by itself and New Game asks which one to play, Hexen or Deathkings of the Dark Citadel.

Strife
Into CRISPSTRF/USRDIR/:

STRIFE1.WAD Strife: Quest for the Sigil
VOICES.WAD spoken dialogue (optional)

VOICES.WAD is not a game of its own and does not appear in the launcher: the engine loads it by itself when it sits next to STRIFE1.WAD. Without it the game plays fine, with subtitles only.

Mods
Anything more than a single WAD goes in its own folder under mods/, one folder per mod:

CRISPDOOM/USRDIR/mods/ALIENS_TC/ <- every .wad and .deh/.bex of the mod
CRISPDOOM/USRDIR/mods/MYMOD/

When mods/ has at least one mod, the launcher shows two tabs, GAMES and MODS; switch with L1/R1 (or D-pad left/right). Each folder is one entry, named after the folder (underscores read as spaces), with the base game it will run on shown to the right.

What loads: every .wad in the folder, in alphabetical order, then every DeHackEd patch: .deh or .bex in Doom and Strife, .hhe or .deh in Heretic. Hexen has no DeHackEd support, so patches are ignored there. DEHACKED lumps inside the WADs load by themselves, as usual in Crispy.

Base game: picked from the maps inside, like add-ons (ExMy needs an episodic IWAD such as DOOM.WAD, MAPxx a Doom II one). A mod with no maps at all (graphics or sound replacements) still gets listed, on the package's default base game (Doom II in the Doom package, if installed). An IWAD inside the folder makes the mod a standalone game that runs on it.

Savegames: each mod saves to USRDIR/savegames/mod-/, so its saves never mix with the base game's.

When the defaults are not right, an optional mod.txt in the folder overrides them:

name = Aliens TC # label in the launcher
iwad = DOOM.WAD # base game (must be installed)
file = ALIENS.WAD # load order: with any file line, only the
file = ALIENS.DEH # files listed are loaded, in this order

If a mod ships both a .deh and a .bex of the same patch, keep only one in the folder (or list one in mod.txt): otherwise both are applied, the second on top of the first.

If a mod does not show up, USRDIR/crispy_log.txt says why (missing base game, no WADs, a file from mod.txt that is not in the folder).

Menu Start
Conversations are a menu: D-pad to pick an answer, Cross to say it. To leave, pick the goodbye answer or press Start. The button that picked an answer is ignored until it is released, so it cannot talk to the same character again by accident.

Naming your character: Strife asks for a name when a new game starts, and for every save. The PS3's own on-screen keyboard opens for it — type the name and confirm, or cancel to go back to the slot list. Names are stored in upper case; characters the game font cannot draw (accents, for example) are dropped, and an empty name becomes STRIFEGUY . If the keyboard cannot open at all, the slot is pre-filled with that name and Cross accepts it; the reason is in crispy_log.txt.

In menus
Action Button
Navigate D-pad or left stick
Confirm Cross
Back Circle
Open / close Start
Savegame page (Doom, Heretic, Hexen) D-pad left / right

Installation:
Install the PKG from this site. FTP the required game files to PS3.

This port requires the following game PAK files and music (optional):
TYRQ00001/USRDIR/id1/pak0.pak <- required (shareware or full)
TYRQ00001/USRDIR/id1/pak1.pak <- optional, full game only
TYRQ00001/USRDIR/id1/music/ <- optional, track02.ogg .. track11.ogg

And mission PAK files (optional):
TYRQ00001/USRDIR/hipnotic/pak0.pak <- Scourge of Armagon
TYRQ00001/USRDIR/rogue/pak0.pak <- Dissolution of Eternity

Both mission packs shipped with their own soundtrack, separate from the base game's. If you have those, they go in hipnotic/music/ and rogue/music/ respectively, same naming convention as above.

NOTE: Filenames are case-sensitive.

Features

- Video: 720p output, selectable internal render resolution (320x200 up to 640x400 tested; 512x384 is the shipped default), hardware-accelerated scaling via the RSX 2D transfer unit (not a CPU blit), triple-buffered presentation, HUD/menu scaling that adapts to whatever resolution is set.

- Audio: real hardware audio on its own dedicated thread, OGG background music (drop your own legally-owned soundtrack files in, see Installation).

- Input: DualShock 3 (movement, look, every action), USB mouse, USB keyboard (hit-or-miss depending on the specific keyboard model -- a known PS3-side limitation, not something this project can fix). Every action is rebindable from the in-game Customize Controls menu, including the quicksave/quickload shortcuts this port adds. Mouse and joystick sensitivity are both adjustable from Options.

- Compatibility: shareware and full registered Quake, save/load (regular and quicksave/quickload), demo playback, both official mission packs (Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity) as separate installs sharing one copy of the base game data.

Changes in 1.2
- Lock on system. it comes unbinded by default. simply use the lock on button to lock on enemies.
- Console support. you can now open the console midgame with select + triangle (does not crash with other functions like saving or loading a game). press cross to open the on screen keyboard.

Changes in 1.1
- small patch, 'shadows' is now an option on 'video'. thanks to cyperPL for the suggestion!

Features
* Games: The HUNT Begins (shareware), Dark War and Extreme Rise of the Triad. A launcher picks the registered or the shareware game depending on the data found; the registered game's episodes are picked in its own New Game menu.
* Video: 720p output with the picture scaled by the RSX. Three internal resolutions: 320x200 (the original), 640x480, and 848x480 widescreen (16:9, more picture at the sides instead of a stretched one). Screen fit, smooth or sharp filtering, an FPS counter, and a large HUD option that draws the status bars at twice the size.
* Audio: 48 kHz audio on its own thread. Music the way a Sound Blaster played it (the original Apogee MIDI player and AdLib driver, on an emulated OPL3), or in General MIDI through a SoundFont (.sf2).
* Input: DualShock 3 with both sticks. Every action can be reassigned from Options, with stick sensitivity, dead zone, invert aim and swap sticks settings.
System: saves and settings in /dev_hdd0/data/rott/, clean exit from the XMB ("Quit Game"), a log in the game's folder.

Installation
1. Install rott-ps3-1.0.pkg from the XMB (it shows up as "Rise of the Triad"). This creates /dev_hdd0/game/RISETRIAD/USRDIR/.

2. By FTP, copy your game data into that folder:

RISETRIAD/USRDIR/DARKWAR.WAD <- registered game (Dark War)
RISETRIAD/USRDIR/DARKWAR.RTL <- registered, required
RISETRIAD/USRDIR/DARKWAR.RTC <- registered, required (ROTTCD.RTC or ROTTSITE.RTC also work)
RISETRIAD/USRDIR/REMOTE1.RTS <- required by both games
RISETRIAD/USRDIR/EXTREME.RTL <- optional: Extreme Rise of the Triad
RISETRIAD/USRDIR/HUNTBGIN.RTL <- optional: The HUNT Begins levels in the registered game

RISETRIAD/USRDIR/HUNTBGIN.WAD <- shareware game
RISETRIAD/USRDIR/HUNTBGIN.RTL <- shareware, required
RISETRIAD/USRDIR/HUNTBGIN.RTC <- shareware, required
With the files of only one game there is no launcher menu, the game starts right away. If no game can start, a screen says which file is missing.

3. Optional, General MIDI music: copy a General MIDI SoundFont (.sf2) to RISETRIAD/USRDIR/ and pick it in Options -> Music Synth. The first .sf2 in the folder (by name) is used. The samples are kept in memory at about twice the file's size, so SoundFonts up to roughly 100 MB are a good fit. GeneralUser GS (31 MB) is a good choice; release builds may include it (see Building from source).

Settings and saved games are kept in /dev_hdd0/data/rott/darkwar/ (and huntbgin/ for the shareware game), so reinstalling the PKG keeps them. The log of the last run is RISETRIAD/USRDIR/rott_log.txt.
