A FIRM payload runs with full control of the console. Take it only from a project you trust and read its release notes first.

Method 1Scan the QR code
With 3dsDL (Scan QR Code). Save it to sdmc:/luma/payloads/.

Method 2Send it to your 3DS
Open 3dsDL › Receive on the same Wi-Fi, then press:
Send to 3dsDL
It saves to 3dsDL's Download Folder (Settings), so set that to sdmc:/luma/payloads/ first. Updating? Use Method 1: Send keeps the old file next to the new one.

Other ways to install

Payload from your SD card: copy GodMode9_CartridgeFixer_2.00.firm into /luma/payloads/. Hold START while powering on to pick it from Luma's chainloader.

About 3DS Cartridge Fixer Tool

3DS game cards keep their data on NAND flash, which can get corrupted when a card sits unused for a long time. The card's controller has an error correction function, and skawo's fork of GodMode9 leans on it hard. It scans the card, and when it hits a bad chunk it keeps re-reading it while running the refresh until the data comes back right. If a card loads forever or keeps crashing for reasons that aren't the game's fault, this might fix it. The author calls it experimental: it might not work, though it shouldn't make a card worse.

You need Luma3DS. Copy GodMode9_CartridgeFixer.firm to /luma/payloads/ and _CartRefresher.lua to /gm9/luascripts/, then:
- Hold Start while powering on and pick the GodMode Refresh firm
- Open GAMECART and select the .3ds file, not the .trim.3ds
- Go to NCSD image options and choose Verify
- If that fails, choose Fix cartridge corruption, then Verify again
- Once it passes, press HOME on the main screen, open Lua Scripts and run CartRefresher

A badly corrupted card can take more than a day, and you can close the 3DS while it runs. Expect several passes. Watch the unfixable chunks count: if it stops going down after two or three runs, those blocks probably won't recover. The author also suggests leaving the card in the console in sleep mode for a day and then trying again.

Retry and stuck limits, auto-skip and a fix report log are set on a screen before the fix starts.

Please do not link these releases directly! Link the latest release page so that people aren't directed to outdated versions!

Due to the nature of the issue being combatted, we have to rely on external testing (since we don't have more broken cartridges ourselves). If you encounter issues (crashes, UX issues) with this version, try to use the last known good version (1.92) and report the issue in the GBAtemp thread
