HENlo, then Ensō on 3.65 with VitaDeploy (from firmware 3.74)

The community guide's route: HENlo in the Vita's browser on 3.74, then VitaDeploy's Quick 3.65 Install moves the Vita to 3.65 and installs Ensō, which keeps it hacked through every restart.

For: every PS Vita and PS TV, updated to 3.74 first (the guide updates everyone below 3.74, even on 3.65 and 3.68) · updated Oct 29, 2026 · not sure? check your Vita

Before you start

  • Ensō is permanent, and a wrong step can brick the Vita beyond repair. Follow every step exactly.
  • A second-hand Vita: the guide starts with Settings, Format, Restore This System (it erases the console), then the update to 3.74.
  • A Vita that left the factory with firmware above 3.65 cannot be downgraded (modoru's README), so it cannot get Ensō: keep using HENlo, run again after each restart. When the downgrade refuses, VitaDeploy has already replaced the plugin setup (the old one is kept in ur0:tai_old): ask the community before you try anything else.
  • If this Vita had plugins installed, turn them off first: the HENlo menu's "Reset taihen config.txt" resets the list.
  • Keep it on the charger with the battery above 50 percent, and do not let it sleep during the install.
  • If the Vita asks to transfer data from the internal memory card to the removable one, answer No: Yes deletes the card's data.
  • Do not install Enso EX or other "advanced" tools: the guide warns they can brick.

Steps

  1. Not on 3.74 yet: Settings, System Update, Update Using Wi-Fi. Before you accept, check the offer says Version 3.74 (if not, clear your Wi-Fi DNS settings and try again).
  2. In the Vita's browser, open HENlo. Press "Unlock my Vita", then "Unlock". If it fails: make sure JavaScript is on, delete cookies and history, restart the Vita and try again.
  3. In the HENlo menu choose "Install henkaku", then "Install VitaDeploy", then exit.
  4. Settings, HENkaku Settings: turn on "Enable Unsafe Homebrew".
  5. Open VitaDeploy: "Install a different OS", then "Quick 3.65 Install" (it needs Wi-Fi). Wait for the downloads, press ✕, read the notice, wait 20 seconds, press ✕ again (R cancels). Leave the Vita awake and charging until it finishes and restarts; if it sleeps and sticks on a black screen, hold Power until it turns off and redo this step.
  6. Finish as the guide does (finalizing setup): in VitaDeploy's App downloader get the iTLS Installer, run it and choose "Install the full iTLS package"; block updates (Settings, System, Auto-Start Settings, untick "Download Update File for System Software"); and in HENkaku Settings turn on PSN spoofing and version spoofing, set to 3.74.

Then

  • VitaShell 2.02: the file manager and installer almost everything else needs.
  • Adrenaline: PSP games and homebrew on the Vita.
  • VitaDB Downloader .2.8: installs Vita homebrew from VitaDB.
  • Autoplugin 2 2.19: installs plugins.
  • Storage: the Quick 3.65 Install already set up yamt-vita 4.0 for an SD card (SD2Vita). For PSVita-StorageMgr 3.2 instead (a PS TV's USB drive, for one), back up ux0: and delete yamt.cfg, yamt.skprx, yamt.suprx and yamt_helper.skprx from ur0:tai first: never two storage plugins at once.
