Adrenaline 8.0.2: PSP games and homebrew on a hacked Vita
Adrenaline runs the PSP's 6.61 firmware inside the Vita, with custom firmware, so PSP homebrew and your own PSP games run. Version 8 is isage's fork; the community guide still links the older Adrenaline 7.
Before you start
- Already had Adrenaline? For a fresh install, first delete the Adrenaline bubble and the line
ux0:app/PSPEMUCFW/sce_module/adrenaline_kernel.skprxfromur0:tai/config.txt, then restart.
Steps
- You need VitaShell 2.02 (VitaDeploy's App downloader has it). Get Adrenaline 8.0.2 onto the Vita (VitaShell's FTP or USB mode, into
ux0:data/), then install it from VitaShell. - Open Adrenaline and press X: it downloads the 6.61 PSP firmware from Sony and closes when done.
- Open it again: it starts in PSP mode. Follow the instructions on screen.
- Optional: add
ux0:app/PSPEMUCFW/sce_module/adrenaline_kernel.skprxunder*KERNELinur0:tai/config.txtso Adrenaline starts once instead of twice after each restart. - Updating later: in PSP mode, System Settings, System Update (from 7.1.0 or newer, and not from a nightly build; otherwise update by hand, as the manual shows). Coming from Adrenaline 7 with plugins: version 8 changed the plugin configuration format, see the changelog.
