# Vita Chess v1.0
The first public release of Vita Chess, a complete chess game for the PlayStation Vita.
## Highlights
- **Play the computer** at 8 difficulty levels, from Beginner (~400) to Master (~1800), with real openings from a built-in book.
- **Two-player pass-and-play** on one Vita.
- **Chess clocks** from 3 minutes to 30 minutes, plus hints, undo, resign, and draw offers.
- **1,000 rated puzzles** from the Lichess database, with your own puzzle rating and streaks.
- **51 interactive lessons** across 6 courses: the rules, checkmating patterns, tactics, seven guided openings, strategy, and endgame drills against the computer.
- **Stats & Trophies:** your records and 25 trophies to unlock.
- **Look back at any move** by tapping it in the move list, or step with L and R.
- **Animated menus**, 7 board themes, 5 piece sets, sound effects, and touch or button controls.
- **Auto-save** for the game in progress, and every finished game saved as a PGN file.
## Install
Download `VitaChess-1.0.vpk` below and install it with VitaShell. Requires a Vita or PS TV with homebrew enabled (HENkaku / EnsÅ).
Your settings and progress are saved in `ux0:data/VitaChess/`. Finished games are in `ux0:data/VitaChess/games/`.
## What's next
Coming next: **game review** (step through a finished game with blunders flagged and better moves shown) and an **evaluation bar**.
Ideas for later: more lessons (more openings, classic endgame techniques), computer personalities and handicaps, a stronger computer at the top levels, a PSP version, two-Vita multiplayer (exploring), and background music.
