- Added a game boot movie. Starting a game plays the PSP's own game boot movie with the start-game jingle and a logo laid over it, then starts the game.
- Added a Game Boot Logo setting: the logo is "PSV / PlayStation Vita" by default and can be switched to the PSP's own picture ("PSP / PlayStation Portable") in Settings > VitaXMB Settings.
- NoLiveArea plugin (beta) 1.7: it now also checks the system's list of running apps. If a game started from VitaXMB ends without the shell reporting it, VitaXMB is still brought back, and if starting VitaXMB only opens its LiveArea page it is started once more. The - release plugin has no debug hooks and is about a third smaller. With the plugin installed, updating replaces its file and the restart screen now says what is new in the plugin.
- The PS button no longer drops to the LiveArea while VitaXMB is open (a long press still opens the quick menu). Use "Exit to LiveArea" in Settings to leave.
- Fixed the VitaXMB Updater app never being replaced when its package changed (it kept the old icon), and it now brings VitaXMB back after an install by launching it until it is running.
- Known issue: after updating from 1.6.1 or older, VitaXMB may not open by itself once; open it from the LiveArea. Later updates return on their own.
