## BattleShip Vita 1.5.2 — AdHoc Entry Synchronization Test
**Experimental pre-release, based on 1.5.1.** Previous builds (`1.5.1` and `1.5-test`) remain available unchanged. Both PS Vitas must install **this same 1.5.2 VPK** before joining one AdHoc lobby.
### Changes vs 1.5.1
- **Deterministic fighter entry sequence in netplay.** The game previously selected one of three fighter entry timelines with a presentation-only random stream that is not synchronized across peers. This choice actually controls when fighter statuses change; in logs it correlates with the first fighter divergence at frames 120/144. AdHoc/modern netplay now selects sequence 0 on both consoles, while offline retains random presentation.
- **Guard null GObj in `gcMoveGObjDL`.** Prevents a CSS/display-list null-pointer crash and logs the unexpected call (rate-limited).
- **Guard missing animation keyframes in `syInterpGetFracFrame`.** Avoids a null-keyframe dereference observed during Vita coredump analysis; invalid animation data returns a safe fallback.
- Uses a distinct **netplay build ID `1.5.2`** to prevent connecting to incompatible previous test VPKs.
No experimental UDP-input-frontier or redundancy changes have been reintroduced. Rollback window and network packet scheduling are unchanged relative to 1.5.1.
### Test priority
1. **AdHoc 1v1**, on both Vitas, for several consecutive games. Confirm both logs show `[NETPLAY][DET] deterministic fighter entry focus=0` and no initial `FIRST PARTITION MISMATCH category=fighter0/fighter1`.
2. **Two humans + one CPU**; confirm character, actions and status stay synchronized.
3. **Two humans + two CPUs**; test again for early state divergence.
If a desync remains, please attach both `ssb64.log` files from the same session; if a Vita crashes, include the matching `psp2core*.psp2dmp` file. These guards are defensive, and real-hardware stability still requires testing.
### Assets
- `battleship.vpk` — Vita executable, built with ID `1.5.2`.
- `texture_pack_1x.zip` — lowest resource use.
- `texture_pack_1.5x.zip` — balanced quality/performance.
- `texture_pack_2x.zip` — highest texture quality, higher resource use.
Texture packs are unchanged from release 1.5.1. Install only one texture pack at a time.
### Source provenance
- BattleShip release branch: `release/1.5.2` (commit `bcdb83e8fc36e7c16a96d81113d70f3fbfbd32f6`).
- `decomp` submodule: `37dacfe57eb28dc9f7628a10dc3ceb6d603642ff` (same-named release branch).
- `libultraship` and `torch` pinned to their 1.5.1 commits. No in-progress Smash Remix modifications included.
