What can my PSP do?
Every PSP can run custom firmware: the 1000, 2000, 3000, Go and Street, from official firmware 6.60 or 6.61. ARK-5 is the current one, and its CustomIPL, supported on every retail model, makes it start with the PSP. Brewology links the files on the sites that publish them and hosts no firmware.
Every way in
FasterARK installs ARK-5, the current PSP custom firmware, from official 6.60 or 6.61; the CustomIPL app in the same download then makes it start with the PSP (supported on every retail model).
Sony's PSP support page is gone, but its update server still serves 6.61: one file for the Go, one for every other model. Copied to the memory stick, it updates the PSP like the official download did.
Installing from this store
Games and apps come as an archive (.zip, .rar or .7z) or a bare EBOOT.PBP. Extract the archive and copy the game's folder to /PSP/GAME/ on the Memory Stick, so you have /PSP/GAME/<game>/EBOOT.PBP. Most archives are laid out from the root of the stick: extract those straight onto it. A PSP Go without a Memory Stick uses ef0:/PSP/GAME/.
Plugins (.prx) go in /SEPLUGINS/, with a line each in /SEPLUGINS/PLUGINS.TXT on ARK-4 and ARK-5, such as game, ms0:/SEPLUGINS/plugin.prx, on. The release notes say whether a plugin runs in games (game), the XMB (vsh) or PS1 games (pops).
On the PSP itself: this store works in the PSP's browser. Downloads come from our copy.
What you will find here. Homebrew applications, games, emulators, plugins and tools, and the old PSPBrew downloads. Not here, on purpose: ISO and CSO loaders, DRM removers, package fetchers, dumpers, firmware. Custom firmware is linked to its publisher. Something that should not be here?
