padbridge changelog
v1.3.1 · Oct 23, 2026
A fix for rest mode. Tested on a PS5 Slim (CFI-2114), firmware 13.60. See the README for compatibility and the settings page.
Files
padbridge-1.3.1.elf: the payload. Send it to your payload loader or add it to Payload Manager's autoload.padbridge-probe.elf: an optional read-only diagnostic that dumps the descriptors and reports of USB devices plugged into the console.

Changes since 1.3.0
- Rest mode no longer stops padbridge. It used to stop before rest mode, and an autoload list only runs at a cold start, so after waking the console had no padbridge (a 2C dongle in XInput mode then showed up as a keyboard). Now padbridge lets the controllers go in rest mode, waits, and picks them up again when the console wakes.
Everything from 1.3.0 is unchanged: rumble in PS4 games, the Switch Pro Controller and the adapter's Switch mode, View + Menu as the touchpad.
v1.3.0 · Oct 23, 2026
Rumble in PS4 games, the Switch Pro Controller (and the 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2's Switch mode), and View + Menu as the touchpad. Tested on a PS5 Slim (CFI-2114), firmware 13.60. See the README for compatibility and the settings page.

Changes since 1.2.0
- Rumble in PS4 games (tested: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy):
- Ultimate 2C on its dongle, XInput mode;
- DualSense through the USB Wireless Adapter 2, XInput mode;
- GameSir G8 through the adapter, adapter in Switch mode (- + L).
- Switch Pro Controller over USB (
057e:2009): the adapter's Switch mode, and Switch Pro controllers. Buttons by position, Capture as the touchpad. Weak rumble is lifted so third-party pads feel it. - View + Menu together as the touchpad on XInput controllers.
- The log says when a controller's rumble starts and stops.
Not possible, found out: PS5 games do not rumble (the console turns their rumble into DualSense haptic audio before the virtual DualSense sees it); the Ultimate 2C does not rumble in DInput mode; its Star and Mapping buttons never reach the console.
Not yet: rumble in PS5 games, light bar, motion sensors, audio.
v1.2.0 · Oct 22, 2026
pad2c is now padbridge. It is no longer about one controller: the Ultimate 2C dongle, almost any Bluetooth controller through the 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2, and wired XInput controllers become virtual DualSense pads on a jailbroken PS5, up to four at once. Tested on a PS5 Slim (CFI-2114), firmware 13.60. See the README for compatibility, installation and the settings page.

Upgrading from pad2c: replace pad2c-<version>.elf with padbridge-1.2.0.elf in your autoload list. On its first start padbridge stops a running pad2c and moves /data/pad2c to /data/padbridge, remembered users and settings included.
Changes since 1.1.0
- The new name everywhere: payloads, notifications ("padbridge by Sub"), settings page,
/data/padbridge. - The log names, once per device, every USB device plugged in that padbridge does not read, so a controller in another mode (Switch, DS4) is easy to spot.
- Tested: the Ultimate 2C on a USB cable.
- README rewritten, with compatibility tables and a screenshot of the settings page.
Not yet: vibration, light bar, motion sensors, audio.
v1.1.0 · Oct 22, 2026
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless (2.4G dongle), and almost any Bluetooth controller through the 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2, as virtual DualSense controllers on a jailbroken PS5. Tested on a PS5 Slim (CFI-2114), firmware 13.60. See the README for installation and the button map.

Changes since 1.0.0
- 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2 (#1): plug it in and switch the controller on, nothing to set. Tested with a DualSense, the Ultimate 2C and a GameSir G8 Plus Galileo. pad2c answers the adapter as Windows does, so it settles in XInput by itself; its DInput mode (View + Left) works too, with a DualSense's touchpad click.
- Up to four controllers at once, each its own virtual DualSense and its own remembered user.
- Only the controller is listed among the console's accessories: the keyboard and mouse the adapter adds are hidden.
- Settings page at
http://<console IP>:8090(the address is in the start notification): each controller live, and a Nintendo layout switch for pads that send A/B and X/Y swapped (such as the G8 in Switch mode). - Wired XInput controllers on a USB cable work as well.
Not yet: vibration, light bar, motion sensors, audio.
v1.0.0 · Oct 22, 2026
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless (2.4G dongle) as a second DualSense on a jailbroken PS5. Tested on a PS5 Slim (CFI-2114), firmware 13.60. See the README for installation and the button map.

Changes since 0.2.1
- The controller works in XInput mode too (#2). In that mode the dongle shows up as
2dc8:310awith a keyboard interface, which 0.2.1 read by mistake. pad2c now picks the right interface from the USB descriptor. L4/R4 send nothing in XInput mode. - The dongle keeps the mode last chosen. With the controller on, hold B + Home until it switches off, then B + Home again until it switches on for DInput (the default); the same with X + Home for XInput.
- Notifications name the controller and its mode, e.g. "pad2c by Sub / 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller (XInput) connected".
Not yet: vibration, light bar, motion sensors, audio.
v0.2.1 · Oct 6, 2026
The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless (2.4G dongle) as a second DualSense on a jailbroken PS5. Tested on a PS5 Slim (CFI-2114), firmware 13.60. See the README for installation and the button map.

Changes since the first version
- "Turn off" in the console's menu disconnects the controller, as with a DualSense; Home connects it again.
- The controller goes back to the user who last used it, if signed in.
- A controller held still no longer looks switched off.
Not yet: vibration, light bar, motion sensors, audio.
