v0.3-hotfix · Sep 28, 2026

ProCon 0.3 hotfix

Added

  • Broader automatic detection of compatible USB controllers without requiring individual VID/PID entries.
  • Support for additional generic HID layouts, including digital-only gamepads, button arrays, separate D-pad directions and 32-bit axes.
  • Support for combining multiple HID reports while preserving previously received button and stick states.

Fixed

  • Analog trigger pressure is now preserved instead of being converted to a full press.
  • Failed controller initialization no longer stops the keyboard/mouse reader.
  • Failed controller connections are retried, with a cooldown allowing other devices to be detected.

Optimized

  • HID descriptors are parsed once per connection.
  • Each input report processes only its relevant fields.
  • Added validation for malformed and truncated reports.

v0.3 · Sep 28, 2026

  • USB keyboard and mouse support.
  • Improved mouse axis decoding using HID report descriptors.
  • Changed icon.
  • Less notifications.

Compatibility varies by device and game. Mouse input emulates an analog stick rather than providing native PC-style aiming. Holding L2/R2 through mouse clicks remains a reported issue.

v0.2 · Sep 27, 2026

  • Added experimental DualSense (PS5) support
  • Added experimental Xbox One / Xbox Series controller support
  • Added support for generic USB HID gamepads
  • Expanded the controller detection and input handling system
  • Nintendo Switch Pro Controller support remains available

The new controller implementations have not been tested on real hardware, as I currently don't own these controllers.

Support has been implemented based on their USB/HID protocols, but functionality is not guaranteed.

If you own a DualSense, Xbox controller, or another USB HID gamepad, testing and compatibility reports are highly appreciated.

Please report:

  • Controller model
  • PS4 firmware
  • GoldHEN version
  • Working/non-working buttons, sticks and triggers
  • Crashes or unexpected behavior

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller remains the currently tested controller.

A DualShock 4 must still remain connected while using ProCon.

This is an experimental release. Expect bugs and compatibility issues.
