About ProCon

Turn on plugins in GoldHEN's settings, then open ProCon and press OK. Wait for "Plugin installed successfully", close it, plug your device into a USB port and start a game. The DualShock 4 has to stay on and connected. ProCon adds the USB device's input to the same player.

The Switch Pro controller is the one the author has used. DualSense, Xbox One and Series pads and generic HID gamepads are in the code but mostly untried, since the author doesn't have them. It's an experimental plugin, made on a PS4 running 13.50.

Keyboard and mouse:
- WASD: left stick
- Mouse: right stick
- Left click: R2
- Right click: L2
- Space: X
- E: Square
- Q: Triangle
- Ctrl: Circle
- Enter: Options

The mouse drives a stick, so aiming depends on each game's dead zones and stick handling. If the keyboard or mouse stops responding in a game, unplug it and plug it back in. No Bluetooth, rumble, motion, touchpad or PS button: use the DualShock 4 for those. Some games don't pick up its input, The Witcher 3 for one.

ProCon 0.3 hotfix

Added

  • Broader automatic detection of compatible USB controllers without requiring individual VID/PID entries.
  • Support for additional generic HID layouts, including digital-only gamepads, button arrays, separate D-pad directions and 32-bit axes.
  • Support for combining multiple HID reports while preserving previously received button and stick states.

Fixed

  • Analog trigger pressure is now preserved instead of being converted to a full press.
  • Failed controller initialization no longer stops the keyboard/mouse reader.
  • Failed controller connections are retried, with a cooldown allowing other devices to be detected.

Optimized

  • HID descriptors are parsed once per connection.
  • Each input report processes only its relevant fields.
  • Added validation for malformed and truncated reports.
