About FourthTube

Search, watch videos at up to 480p, read comments and turn on captions. Livestreams and premieres play too. Your watch history and channel subscriptions are kept on the console. There are no ads, because ads were never added. It skips JavaScript and web pages and plays the stream directly with the decoder from Core-2-Extreme's Video player for 3DS.

You need Luma3DS and a DSP firmware dump. The authors say system version 8.1.0-0 is the minimum.

- B: back
- Circle Pad up/down: scroll
- L/R: switch tabs
- Select + Start: turn off the bottom screen
- Left/Right in the player: skip 10 seconds
- ZL/ZR in the player: skip 5 seconds

It's in beta and it does crash. In February 2026 a change on YouTube's side broke playback. Switching the client to VisionOS in the settings gets videos playing again, but not subtitles, and YouTube Kids videos won't play that way. If you used ThirdTube before, rename /3ds/ThirdTube to /3ds/FourthTube to keep your data.

  • Add the current version to the update header in settings updater.
  • Switched the default agent from Android to Android VR, so videos will play again, do note VR does NOT support YouTube kids content. A better solution is being worked on, this is a stopgap update really.
