About 3DS homemenu ext data Tool
yellows8's tool for the Home Menu's SD extdata, usable from ninjhax. It copies SaveData.dat and the theme cache between extdata and the SD card. Write a custom theme in and the Home Menu loads it the next time it starts.
Back up first by copying your Home Menu and theme extdata from sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/(ID0)/(ID1)/extdata/00000000/ somewhere else. The main menu has:
- Copy extdata SaveData.dat to sd, and back again: your Home Menu settings
- Enable normal theme-cache: only if you have theme DLC installed
- Enable persistent theme-cache: custom themes stay even without theme DLC
- Copy theme-data from extdata to sd, and back again: save the current theme or write a custom one
Theme files sit next to the app, or in the SD root for the CIA: ThemeManage.bin, BodyCache.bin or body_LZ.bin, and BgmCache.bin or bgm.bcstm. Body data can be up to 0x150000 bytes and music up to 0x337000. Don't write new music while the Home Menu is already playing music from the theme cache.
To undo it, set the theme to none in the Home Menu theme settings, restore your SaveData.dat, or delete the extdata. D-Pad or Circle Pad moves, A opens a menu, and B on the main menu goes back to the Homebrew Launcher.
