About 3dJelly
Point it at a Jellyfin server on your home network. It looks for servers by itself over UDP port 7359, or you can add one by address, using the server's LAN IP and port 8096, not localhost. Sign in with your username and password, or with a six-character Quick Connect code you approve from a phone or PC already signed in. The login is saved on the SD card.
Jellyfin does the transcoding, down to 144p, 240p or 240HQ on an original 3DS. The New 3DS adds 360p and 480p and tries the hardware H.264 decoder.
- A: play or pause
- B: back or stop
- Y: settings, or mute during playback
- D-Pad up/down: volume
- D-Pad left/right: change quality
- L/R: skip back or forward
The team calls it a prototype. Logging in and browsing are the most reliable parts, and playback is still experimental. Known problems: playback can hitch when the audio is loud, some shows need B pressed twice to back out of specials, and some don't show season 2.
