TTR changelog
v1.0 · Dec 24, 2006
TTR has finally reached a whole number version. To celebrate this milestone, Freshmilk and -Skyline- have decided to consider every suggestion and comment made on earlier versions of TTR and integrate them into this one.
TTR v1.0 comes not only with a new GFX but a whole host of other new features - including a new car health system - as well. For a complete list of changes and new features, check out the changelog below.
General
- Up and down animation for rally mode have been removed by popular demand, as it caused a few glitches in the gameplay.
- In the past I had shamefully ignored what you had to say about the old awkward button select menus; so they've been eliminated, to be replaced by new, sexy looking menus.
- All the bugs found in v0.9 have been fixed; and may i take this oppertunity to apologize for that very rushed release.
- Security added to the highscore system; try changing it on a pc to see what happens...
- Everytime a new highscore is reached, a screenshot is saved in TTR's directory.
GFX
- The GFX have been completely remade by my partner -Skyline-, who has been working flatout over the past 2 days to bring you this new version of TTR.
- New pimped edition, as suggested by many of you fans.
- The version mix ups have been fixed, we are currently at version 1.0.
- 4 New strips for you to own.
New Features
- A new health system, as desired by so many gamers.
- A new health attribute has been added to cars, so that you can choose the ride that best suits you.
- A new screenshot system to help you, ermmm, do something, lol.
Garage
- A side scrolling garage has been devised, to make your car selection just that little bit easier.
- Some of the older rides have been drafted in to add to that retro feel of TTR.
- A whole new host of cars have been put together with the old to make for a whole new gameplay exeirience.
Music
- The older tunes from v0.7 have been brought back based on your votes.
- Music has been added to the EBOOT, just to make it that extra bit special.
You can also extensively customize TTR. Everything from the cars to the music - heck, even the stats! - are customizable. Check out the readme file included in the download for the customization instructions as well as a short troubleshooting FAQ.
v0.9 · Dec 22, 2006
TTR stands for Table Top Rally, which is like your average Car-Dodging style game plus one. Rather than having the same boring old layout everytime you play, there are new cars, interchangeable backgrounds and cool music. If none of these appeal to you, everything I just mentioned can be custimized and changed with the minimum of effort, in 5 minutes, to make the game look and feel just how it should. And with our new feature, custom cars, the game's already limitless boundries are stretched even further.
This is basically the perfect game for the office, on the road, or having a wee, for an addictive fast-paced thrill game as you swere and dodge to avoid a firey death at the hands of oncoming traffic. Read on to find out more.
Phew, you'd think i'm actually trying to sell you this thing!
Now lets look at just a few of the names who helped to build TTR into what it is today:
Freshmilk - Coder, Developer, and basically Inventor of TTR
Maxime - Orginal Code, as this game was based on GTA: DF
Valo - Co-Owns the project, and has done all the GFX from V0.6 and onwards, although for the first time, in this version he was helped by
-Skyline- - First time GFX artist for TTR, who made good use of the little number of sprites we had and still producing brilliant Results.
ZeroeX - Sprites for the game
-Tacticalpaper- - For boosting TTR's popularity by including it in his shell, which is yet to be released, and will include a smaller version of this game.
I can't stress enough just how much skyline helped me during TTR's production... thanks dude!
Now, lets wrap this releae up with a quick summary of everything thats new, and let me just say, theres a lot new to this version!
- 8 new 'Mario Kart' characters from modified sprites
- Orginal 'Mario Kart' music
- New GFX overhaul, made by Oyez and Valo
- Individual stats for each car
- Stats editing system
- 4 New Tracks to race on
- Added in a boundry system for terrains, so that you cant go off the track.

v0.7 · Sep 30, 2006
Freshmilk s has sent us word that he and his partner who you can thank for these amazing graphics, psp_bling have updated TTR to version 0.7 today. TTR was origninalyl released back in July as Table Top Rally, and if you can take the time to look back at this release you wuill realise how much effort has been put into this game and how it has evolved from a little Lua game to a full kxploited racing title with amazing graphics.
This version is very stable compared to some past releases (so far it hasn't crashed once!) with all past game modes working perfectly. Version 0.7 includes a new game mode called intersection which you can try out, involvingan intersection on a motorway with cars are coming in every direction. As Freshmilk said, Its the same idea, with a new twist. Your job is to dodge all the oncoming cars whilst being aware of where the others are. If you can get a beta within a full release, this is what the Intersection mode would be as it currently only supports one car.
Here's a rundown of what new features you'll find in TTR v0.7:
- Intersection Game Mode
- Intersection Highscore (Seperate from rally)
- Better Screenshot System
- New graphics, again thanks to PSP_bling
- New look eboot, thanks to PSP_bling
- Terrain Selection Bug Fixed
- Faster Loading times
- Lots of bug fixes
Be warned though - the intersection mode is very difficult!
v0.6 · Sep 23, 2006
Let's call it a joint project of Freshmilk and PSP_Bling (Bling did the artwork here), but either way, this new version of TTR Kxploited really rocks. All the suggestions and PMs from you guys from the previous version have inspired Freshmilk to really come up with new features for TTR v0.6. Some of them include new difficulty levels as well as a speedy way to get to the game sans the extra loading time. When the beginning vital game info displays, Freshmilk says you gotta read it first as it displays only once.
Looks can really deceive, and from the screenshots here we can see that something quite ingenious has really been worked out by Freshmilk. It has made things easier for TTR players! It crashes less often, and the game loads more efficiently now. To make things clear, here's a rundown of what new stuff you'll find at TTR v0.6.
- 4 Difficulty Levels
- Whole new graphics overhaul
- A new look EBOOT, courtesy of PSP_Bling
- A new layout for the game
- Options
Freshmilk adds that there's a little easter Egg hidden within the game, and if you find it you win 10,000 points. You ought to find it before September 31st or the points or gone!
As always, Freshmilk welcomes comments for the new version of the game so feel free to follow through the forum thread linked here.
v0.1 · Jul 18, 2006
Freshmilk's first game, TTR, may still need better graphics and more cars but since it's already playable and has already helped me while the time away, it already counts as a good game under my book. And as I always love to say, every bit of homebrew game counts. So let me tell you more about TTR.
TTR, which means Table Top Rally, is a car-dodging game. You take control of a white Zonda C12 and you try to dodge (what else?) the other cars racing past you - your score is equal to the number of cars you've succesfully dodged. The game may have a slow start but the pace picks up as you move farther into the race.
The game is already fully-operational, complete with an intro, menu, credits, and an "Erase High Score" feature. But as I've mentioned, graphics of TTR do need improvement; even Freshmilk admits this. Hence, if you're good at designing cars or if you can help with either making a garage (currently there is none) or cleaning up the game's code, Freshmilk will be glad to hear from you.
As TTR uses a kernel command, Freshmilk leaves note that it may not work with the eLoader but you can still try.
Before I go and try again to beat that high score (currently set at "64"), let me leave you with Freshmilk's words, "Post you comments, they're always appreciated!!!"
