Install on your PSP

Archive: extract pspchess.zip into a folder of its own in /PSP/GAME/ on the Memory Stick, so EBOOT.PBP sits in that folder.

Start it from Game › Memory Stick. On a PSP Go without a Memory Stick, use /PSP/GAME/ on the internal storage.

This is a firmware 1.50 build: its game folder comes in two, one ending in %.

About pspChess

Christopher Bowron's chess game. The PC version of his engine reached a blitz rating of 2054 on freechess.org. By default you play white and the PSP plays black. There's an analysis mode, PGN import and background music from your own MP3 or MOD files.

- D-Pad and Cross: pick a piece, then its square
- R: make the computer move
- L: take back a ply
- Circle: cancel the selection
- Triangle: human against human (also stops a computer search)
- Select: options
- Start: new game
- Square + Up / Down: search depth

It has to live in /PSP/GAME/PSPCHESS or things may break.
