game, ms0:/SEPLUGINS/pspcap.prx, on

Use vsh instead of game for a plugin that runs in the XMB, or pops for PS1 games, as the release notes say.

About psp-usb-capture

Two parts: pspcap.prx, a kernel plugin that grabs each frame and the game's sound and sends them over USB, and pspcap.exe, a Windows window that shows the picture and plays the sound. It works inside games and homebrew, not in the XMB.

- Copy pspcap.prx to seplugins/ and add ms0:/seplugins/pspcap.prx 1 to seplugins/game.txt. Turn RemoteJoyLite off if you have it, as the two fight over the USB port.
- Start a game and plug the cable in, without USB mode.
- The first time, bind the device to WinUSB with Zadig on the PC.
- Run pspcap.exe. It finds the PSP and reconnects if you pull the cable.

Esc opens the settings and F11 goes fullscreen. The picture is 480x272 scaled up. The author uses a PSP-3000 with PRO (PROMOD-C2p) and Windows 10, and says heavy 3D games lose some frame rate while streaming.

Release notes

v0.9.0 · pspcap 0.9.0 · Oct 11, 2026

First public release.

  • PSP screen at the game's own frame rate (Undertale: full 30 fps) and the game's sound, over a plain USB cable
  • Esc settings menu: 16-bit color, sound, volume, fullscreen (F11), integer scaling; saved to pspcap.ini
  • Reconnects by itself when the cable is pulled or the game restarts

Downloads

  • pspcap-win64.zip — the Windows client (unzip anywhere, runtime DLLs included)
  • pspcap.prx — the PSP plugin, goes to seplugins/ with a line in game.txt

Setup steps (including the one-time Zadig driver) are in the README.

Tested on a PSP-3000 with PROMOD-C2p and Windows 10. Heavy 3D games lose some frame rate while streaming.
