NPaint changelog

v2.4 · Feb 15, 2008

QJ.NET reader Jomann dropped by PSP Development Forum and informed us that homebrew coder NIGathan has just rolled out a new build for the application NPaint. The release bumps the program up to version 2.4.

Just like its name implies, NPaint is actually a paint tool created for the Sony PlayStation Portable. Here are the fixes and changes implemented to version 2.4:

  • Added a feature that allows you to change the theme color for the border.(R,G,B)
  • Fixed music volume.
  • Fixed bug causing brush to move back to the top left corner after changing color.
  • Fixed ALL menu bugs by completely recoding the entire menu.
  • Removed the random bars in the main menu.
  • Reduced sizes of menu images by cutting out the parts needed instead of loading an image the size of the screen.
  • Menu screens should appear faster now that it doesn't randomly load constantly when choosing a new option. instead all images are loaded at the beginning increasing the loading time by a few seconds.
  • Added an error message warning you when you try to load an image and you have no image saved.
  • Added support for 3.71+ for Slim and Original PSP's.

Coder NIGathan included a Readme.txt file in NPaint v2.4 which should aid users during installation and usage. Be sure to browse over the documentation first to maximize the potential of this nifty application.

v0.8 · Mar 8, 2007

Even though Npaint v0.7 was released barely a day ago, NIGathan has been burning the midnight oil and has already released v0.8 of this homebrew PSP application. A simple Paint program for the PSP, NPaint v0.8, it basically allows one to use a specific image as your brush.

For v0.8, NIGathan has made the following tweaks:

  • Fixed dual brush mode so instead of one rotating around the other while the other rotates around a center point they both rotate around each other.
  • Ability to save current drawing to Drawing.png.
  • Ability to load saved Drawing.png (right now the loaded image is not editable, but it is viewable)
  • Thanks to PSdonkey now the bug stoping the sound from looping is fixed.

Lastly, the creator of this app has given specific instructions on how to install this application on 3.XX OE/2.71 SE firmware, as well as on FW 1.50, so be sure to check the readme file first before anything else. So there you go, once that's been done, go right ahead and give this application a try.
