HideFile PRX changelog

v2 · Aug 7, 2007

As most of you know by now, ever since the PlayStation Pornable scandal major news media, the PSP-unfamiliar folks have been suspiciously eyeing our PSPs. Time and time again, you'll encounter some who'll demand an inspection of your handhelds' contents. myschoo probably had that scenario as the inspiration for his work, HideFile PRX.

As the name implies, this PRX module enables the user to hide files via the XMB with a quick (pre-setted) button press. Very useful, we must say, especially in those "tight" situations (wink). I mean, you'll never know when an inquiring adult will go after your PSP to play Tetris homebrew, right? Here's the beefy changelog for Hide File PRX v2:

  • Ability to hide GAME folders
  • Fixed bug with custom buttons settings
  • Little change in config file
  • Displays confirm message ("Hidden !", "Unhidden !" and "Wrong Code !")
  • Little code clean up

myschoo provided s with a very detailed installation procedure in the readme file, so you'd better go over that first before trying this out. The forum thread below also leads to a very lively discussion about the program's efficiency, usage, setup, and some personal tweaking tips, it won't hurt to take a peek.

Here's a PRX module that some of you might find very, very, very useful. Via our QJ forums, myschoo has released HideFile PRX. Pretty self-explanatory, as creative homebrew titles go. This plugin allows you to hide your files via the XMB just by button presses. What's good about this is that it includes a config file which you can tweak to your own demands and liking. Here's what you can change:

  • Toggle button
  • Accept code button
  • Folder to hide

The rest of the instructions for installation and setting configuration can be found in the readme file. Installation could be tricky for some of you, so you might want to head to the forums for some discussion with the developer, just in case you have questions.

Now speaking of the forum release thread, we're not going to say why this PRX module is specifically useful. It's up to you what kind of files you want to hide. Some people in the forum thread have ideas though. We know what you're thinking, so we'll just leave it at that.
