v3.5.35 · Jul 1, 2008
Homebrew developer uberjack has updated fMSX to version 3.5.35. For those who aren't too familiar with this program, it is essentially an MSX emulator for the Sony PlayStation Portable.According to the release post, this version of the application is essentially a bug-fix release. Here's a quick look at all the improvements over the previous version as taken from the homebrew's official website: * Bugfix - many games, especially MegaROM games did not load correctly in the previous version (thanks Victor) * Added Fast Forward button mapping - while disabled by default, you can map any button to fast-forward emulation in the Controls menu * Custom mapper types can now be embedded in source code. This version includes built-in support for Zanac Ex and Mon Mon Monster. Contact me if you'd like to add additional mappingsLike all homebrew, be sure to go over the documentation to avoid any problems with the program.

Having problems with the sound on your PSP's MSX emulator when you try to run some of its games? Developer uberjack's also picked up on this issue, and has released version 3.5.3 of the fMSX app.
As the developer elaborates on this build's changes since the previous release (quoting the readme)
- Games/applications that require MSX Audio/MSX Music will no longer crash the emulator if either is disabled in System settings - there will simply be no Y2413/YM8950 audio
- ROM type settings are now saved between sessions - up to 500 different ROM’s can be tracked by CRC32 value
Ubjerjack notes that the second feature, the 500-ROM tracker, is still experimental and that any feedback regarding any experienced issues are most welcome. Full details on fMSX's installation, controls, and functions are available in the file bundle's readme.
This file is for PSPs running on fw 1.50
v1.50 · Feb 29, 2008
PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Akop Karapetyan (better known around these parts as uberjack) has finally released the new version for the MSX emulator, fMSX. The numbers are now up to 3.5.1 and the application sports a number of cool changes and additions.
In case you missed the previous reports and versions regarding this emulator, fMSX is a PSP port of Marat Fayzullin's original emulator. Anyway, here are the changes as listed on uberjack's blog:
PSP version brought up to par with Marat's official version
Sound should now function correctly following a state load (in previous versions, sound would often stop)
MSX MUSIC bug fixed - FMPAC should now be loaded correctly (earlier versions attempted loading from an incorrect location, and thus failed)
When switching games, latest save state will be automatically highlighted
There you have it boys and girls. Check out the downloads below. fMSX comes in two flavors, one compiled for 1.50 and the other compiled for 1.00 and 2.00+. As usual, check out the readme before anything else.
