eMenu v0.1 FINAL changelog

v0.1 · Apr 21, 2006

eMenu-- is meant to be a simple, fast, stable no bs alternative to the standard eLoader menu.

This is intended for use with eLoader v0.95+

The reason we desided to make a new menu, was the increasing trouble the old menu gave us. It had become hard to maintain and was rather slow when having more than a page of homebrew. eMenu-- is made with 3 design rules in mind: Simple, Fast, Stable. If a features conflicts with any of the three it won't be added. eMenu-- has been tested with 700+ homebrew folders, and has proven to be just as fast as if only a handful had been installed.

Install eMenu-- if you like a simple, fast, stable no bs menu for your eLoader!

Current features include:

  • GUI front-end to all eLoader versions
  • Overclocking possibility
  • Help screen
  • Resource overview (memory, battery, usb status, cpu + bus speed)
  • USB support on firmware 2.0, using the TIFF exploit.
  • Supports custom png background.
  • Screenshot of the menu.
  • Slumber mode.

v2006-04-16 · Apr 16, 2006

Ditlew, half of the team behind the eLoader, has released the third public beta of the eMenu. eMenu is a simple and fast alternative the the standard eLoader menu, but as a beta, should only be used by those that know how to use this. If you are reading this article and thinking "What the hell is the eMenu?" or "What do i do with it?" then take the advice from Ditlew- Don't use it. If you do not knowwhat to do with the files, please wait for the official release - no support is offered on this version.

This version of the eMenu should be much more stable than the last, as according to Ditlew :"We had some feedback regarding the menu crashing when parsing certain homebrew. We looked into it, and found out that it was due to a bug in 'libpng' that can't handle interlanced png's. We have also added a screenshot feature to aid the feedback." And remember, even though Ditlew is working on the eMenu, it's still a Fanjita&Ditlew project, and will be released as a part of the eLoader package when finished!
