v0.1.9 · Sep 24, 2007
Weltall's CWCHEAT 0.1.9 REV F BETA needs testing and comments, lacks some features but has the core functionality of earlier versions.
v0.1.7 · Mar 8, 2007
PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Weltall gave us a buzz about a major update going down for his CWCheat homebrew app. The first thing people may notice is the move from CWCheat version 0.1.6 to 0.1.7 - which indicates the major fixes included in this app. For those wondering what this homebrew application does, it basically allows users to use, modify, delete, and organize cheats for your PSP and PSX games.
Moving to the updates, the first is a new FPS counter to display how many frames your game renders when in play. The second update isn't as visible but is more notable: a complete rewrite of the homebrew application's database-related functions to fix previously reported database loading problems. Going into full details:
It's now possible to show the frame per second which are being rendered on screen by the game. This can be enabled/disabled from the configuration menu (thanks to coldbird because he found the function which was hooked to make this possible) [ALL]
The db reader was rewritten from scratch this should fix the problems which involved the db loading and let you load db without file size limit (tested with a 3.2MB db)[ALL]
Corrected a bug while adding a new codeline (some lines were zeroed) [ALL]
Corrected a bug with the db saving[ALL]
Various other fixes
Added a Spanish translation by SiTWulf
As with all homebrew applications and games, we advise downloaders to view the bundle's README for proper installation instructions and other important details, such as where to report experienced bugs. There's also the QJ.Net Forums for any further discussions and updates. We thank Weltall for giving us the heads-up for CWCheat v0.1.7's release, and hope you guys enjoy the download below.
v0.1.6 · Feb 17, 2007
CWCheat has just been updated to 0.1.6 REV.I . And according to homebrew developer weltall, this revised version should now work "on all the released and yet to release (if Sony doesn't do something crazy) psx emulators."
He also reports that coding for the Cwcheat interface is complete, and that people may now add/remove codelines from cheats in the cheat modification section of his app - read the changelog below for further details:
Rewritten from scratch half of the mc management internal code, so now mc should be found in all cases (all emulators/plugins) and most probably also in emulators still not out[POPS]
It's now possible to remove codelines with SELECT in the cheat modification menu[ALL]
It's now possible to add codelines with START in the cheat modification menu[ALL]
Other fixes and little modifications[ALL]
As always, we strongly recommend a viewing of the enclosed bundle's README, along with trying out the bundle's PSXMC2PSP app, which was a recent addition to the pack. Lastly, do remember to see Pasky's CWCheat tools or database editor - both will work with weltall's homebrew quite nicely. Enjoy the download.

Serial CWCheat users rejoice, because weltall has just updated his CWCheat 0.1.6 for 3.03 OE to Rev. G which packs in a whole lotta changes and updates to his much-celebrated homebrew app for the PSP.
With the inclusion of USB support in Rev. F, I think we can all agree that this app will only get better and better with more fixes and nifty updates in weltall's future releases. For CWCheat newbies, we strongly recommend you check out the readme file as well as the FAQ if you don't know diddly squat about this app.
As mentioned, Rev. G doesn't only sport new additions to the app, but also fixes on the problems some of guys have been experiencing (bugs, glitches, etc.). One of the cool things in Rev. G is that in now has a build which loads the database in a different area, so games which crashed on bootup (like SOCOM) should work just fine now. That said, here's the list of changes in Rev. G also known as the all-important...
Changelog:
- fixed the code type D1 there was a little bug [POPS]
- brightness reworked a bit now it should be more responsive [ALL]
- brightness is now saved and loaded from file 0 = disabled 1 = 25% 2 = 50% 3 = 75% 4 = 100% [ALL]
- fixed a little glitch in the id reading function which made cwcheat show om or rom when the executable was named PSX.EXE. Now PSXEXE is showed [POPS]
- added xploder code types 90, 70 and 00 [POPS]
- now it's possible to read gme memorycard (no save support ATM) press R to exchange gmemcr [POPS]
- added a build which loads codes from the kernel partition you can use that as a temporary fix for games which have problems with the volatile partition (like socom and nfs)[GAME]
- added back support for 302OE emulator memory cards now it's automatically detected if it's the 303OE emulator or the 302OE one
- prx for psp games is updated to latest functions [GAME]
- added 32bit search support for builds with GS/AR support: the output code will be a two line code [POPS]
- All was moved to ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/ so the dh folder isn't needed anymore [ALL]
- battery temperature is now showed [ALL]
- other things [ALL]

With the release of Dark_AleX's custom firmware 3.03 OE-A, there's bound to be another gushing stream of new homebrew updates coming in. One of the biggest homebrew apps we've continuously seen progressing through various firmwares is CWCheat by Weltall. It's not much of a surprise to see an update, but he's now released a new version of his cheat-tweaker of an app that's built to work on 3.03 OE in POPS mode (PSX Emulator).
CWCHeat 0.1.6 Rev F has all of the features of the previous version (Rev E), but more than this, USB support has been added. Exciting, huh? That means you can load your usb.prx files on POPS mode without the kernel discarding it. Here's the full changelog for CWCHeat 0.1.6 Rev F:
- reworked the id loading function now it should work in any case
- now if selected 0 as cpu/bus mhz the clock isn't set and it's left to the sony emulator (SUGGESTED!)
- fixed memory card functions to work on 3.03 Emulator
- Now USB support is available in CWCheat (read the USB_SUPPORT.txt readme file)
- added a little faq in english
- fixed the db save functions
- now the mc loader/saver shows more information and shows if the operation went fine
- other things here and there
We highly recommend you follow his suggestion: make sure you take a look at the readme file on USB support. All the details are there; instructions, history, etc. Make sure you follow all steps to the dot!

Weltall is back with another revision of CWCHEAT. The name's still long, but that doesn't matter because in this version, you can finally load the memory cards from your PSX and PS2 emulators onto your PSPs.
According to weltall, these mem cards are stored and loaded in the ePSXe format. This means that you can load them directly using the best emulators out now (ePSXe, pSX) or convert them using any decent mem card management tool.
You can also use tools such as DexDrive to extract your saved games from your PSX memory cards or extract the single saves and put them in the ps2 with applications like ulanchelf. To do the latter, weltall says that you need to use psxmemtool to "extract the mc as ps1 remove the 0x80 header so it starts with SC and put the name you see in the header as the file name."
CWCHEAT can store up to 256 memory cards per game. They are identified using GAMEID-MEMCARDNUM.mcr. Here's an example from weltall: "for the first memory card of xenogears which has id SLUS_00664 it will be SLUS_00664-0.mcr." These memory cards will be stored in /seplugins/cwcheat/mc and can be easily loaded to slot 1 or 2 by selecting the corresponding option.
Here's the changelog for CWCHEAT 0.1.6 Rev. E for 3.02OE/POPS:
- fixed a little thing which for some game could make cwcheat not loading the id correctly
- fixed the directory were the db is saved from the cwcheat interface now it's saved in the correct folder
- new folder "mc" under /seplugins/cwcheat/
- fixed some reported things here and there
- BUILTIN SUPPORT to loading/saving epsxe (mcr) memory card to/from the psp emulator!!!
- in this way you can load your own game saves from pc or psx/ps2 on the psp and viceversa! :)
- but also go over problematic points in games.

This brew, CWCHEAT 0.1.6, is a version especially made for Dark Alex's 3.02 OE Firmware. From weltall over at our forums, he says that this is without devhook, and yet, remains fully functional. In fact, it's even a lot more stable than devhook.
The changelog includes the following
- devhook connections are removed
- unncecessary installer removed
- repacked to be adequate for installation on 3.02 OE
Apart from that, he'd also like to clarify several things. The game crashes, according to him, are most probably caused by the use of volatile memory. To find out how to work around this little dilemma, just visit our forums. In there, you'll also see find the Codes and the Installation procedures.
Speaking of codes, he'd also like to ask those who are putting in codes to make sure that they do it correctly, withouth _L_S_C ect. So there. You can download the file right here. Enjoy!
