AntiUpdate changelog
v3 · Jan 30, 2008
We're letting you guys know that PSP homebrew developer Becus25 (aka Dark_Moon) has recently released Antiupdate V3. This homebrew plugin will allow users to hide the PSP's firmware updates when you attempt to load a UMD.
Antiupdate V3 was specifically built to run on PSPs loaded with custom firmware 3.80 M33, and carries source codes and an SDK for other programmers. As Becus25 explained regarding the news SDK:
Now it incorporate a SDK for programmers and the src code of the app. The SDK has one function reversed from 3.80 M33 and with this you’ll can patch 3.80 system calls ,redirect system functions and read if any eboot is SCE Update . Now the app patch $ce updaters from UMD disc.
Given that there's no readme included with this file, we advise the readers to visit the developer's site should they encounter any problems.

If you're fed up of seeing those useless update icons in the XMB when you pop a UMS into your PSP then Team t0c have come to your rescue with their latest homebrew addition for the PSP - AntiUpdate v1.0. Rather than changing the UMD update icon to something else which just takes up more space this plugin patches the PSP RAM so that the dredded update icon isn't there at all.
Don't worry - this has been extensively tested by Team t0c and they confirm that UMD games and homebrew all function correctly after running this just like nothing ever happened to your PSP. If you have firmware 3.03OE-C, 3.10OE-A and A' or 2.71SE-C then you can use this plugin as all have been tested and confirmed to function correctly.
If you have another version of a custom firmware it is advised that you do not attempt to use this just in case, but the authors are confident that as it searches the memory for the specific bytes instead of relying in pure memory addresses it should work with all firmwares.
Remember, there's no risk of bricking this either as it does not access the PSP's flash memory. Lets get rid of those nasty updates once and for all!
