PS5 homebrew with etaHEN on firmware 3.00 to 10.01
What to do on a PS5 that runs etaHEN, in order: stop updates, run the exploit for your firmware, load etaHEN, and turn on its package installer so this store's packages install.
Before you start
- Turn off automatic updates first. The community guide also blocks Sony's update servers in the router, because a DNS-only block is no longer failsafe.
- Never sign in to PlayStation Network with a jailbroken console.
- Exploits can hang or crash the console: if one does, restart and try again.
- The big PS5 "stores" that offer games are piracy stores Sony is taking down. Brewology does not link them.
Steps
- Check your firmware: Settings, System, System Software, Console Information.
- Turn off automatic updates: Settings, System, System Software, System Software Update and Settings.
- Find the exploit for your firmware in the table of the GBAtemp PS5 Exploit Guide (on 7.00 and later the guide recommends the browser exploit with Relapse) and follow that exploit's own instructions. Brewology links them and hosts none of it. Exploits do not survive a restart: run it again after each one.
- Load etaHEN 2.5B, the homebrew enabler.
- To install from this store, turn on etaHEN's Direct Package Installer: it is off until you set
DPI=1in etaHEN's settings file (/data/etaHEN/config.ini). It then listens on port 9090, and every app page here gives the link to send to it.
Then
- The PS5 store: apps from their developers' GitHub releases, with a copy kept here.
- Itemzflow: launches what you install.
