About SysDVR client

The Switch needs Atmosphère and exelix11's SysDVR sysmodule (5.x or 6.x), set to TCP Bridge for network or USB for a cable. SysDVR's RTSP mode won't work.

Over the network, both machines have to be on the same router. Start a game on the Switch and open the app: it finds the Switch by itself, or you can type its IP address in the settings if your network blocks that. The author suggests a wired connection on the PS4. For a cable, set Connection to USB cable in the settings and use one that carries data, not a charge-only one. The author still calls USB mode experimental.

Video is 720p at about 30 fps, decoded in software and stretched to 1080p or shown at its real size. Only games come through. The Switch home menu stays black and a few games block capture.

- Options: settings
- Triangle: stats overlay
- Square: fullscreen or original size
- Cross: reconnect

Settings live in /data/sysdvr-ps4/config.ini and the log in log.txt next to it. If the sound crackles, raise audio_buffer_ms in that file to 100 or 200.

Release notes

v1.2.0 · SysDVR PS4 v1.2.0 · Oct 29, 2026

SysDVR for PS4 v1.2: USB cable mode, Sharp scaling and a new, simpler settings menu.

Tested on a real PS4 with a Switch: working and stable.

What's new

  • Sharp scaling: a crisper upscale to 1080p (bicubic), available through the Best quality preset
  • New settings menu: 7 clear settings instead of 12, with a help line explaining the selected one
  • Connection: Wi-Fi / USB cable
  • Switch IP: automatic or fixed, with a new IP editor
  • Picture: Fullscreen / Original size
  • Performance: Low latency / Balanced / Best quality presets (replace the old technical settings; shows Custom if config.ini was edited by hand)
  • Sound, Switch screen, Reconnect
  • Quick keys: △ stats, □ fullscreen, ✕ reconnect, OPTIONS menu

Install

  1. Download IV0000-SDVR00001_00-SYSDVRPS4CLIENT0.pkg below
  2. Copy it to a USB drive → PS4 Debug Settings → Package Installer (installs over 1.1, settings are kept)
  3. Switch: start SysDVR in TCP Bridge (Wi-Fi) or USB mode, start a game, launch SysDVR PS4

See the README for settings, stats and troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, open an issue with /data/sysdvr-ps4/log.txt.
