PS4 IPTV changelog

v0.3.0 · Nov 2, 2026

V7 IPTV v0.3.0 is a major visual and usability update to the PS4 IPTV project, tested on a physical PlayStation 4.

V7 IPTV is the redesigned evolution of PS4 IPTV. It is the same app: same title ID, same data on the console. It installs over v0.2.0 as an update and keeps your sources, settings, favorites, history, resume positions and downloads.

> V7 IPTV is a client only. It ships with no channels, movies, series, accounts, subscriptions, playlists or provider credentials, and it is not affiliated with any IPTV provider. Bring your own legitimate source.

What's new

  • V7 IPTV redesign and branding: new name, V7 logo and a complete new interface
  • New black / charcoal TV interface with nine accent themes: V7 Blue, Cyan, Teal, Green, Purple, Magenta, Red, Orange and White. The base stays neutral; the accent colours only focus, buttons, active tabs, progress, toggles and selection.
  • Redesigned Home: navigation bar, a Continue Watching hero with Resume / Details, and media cards
  • Improved catalog browsing for Movies and Series: category rail and poster grid, sorting
  • Redesigned details, Live TV, Search and Settings, plus updated Downloads and Favorites
  • Better artwork fitting and poster quality: posters keep their own shape (no 16:9 crops), sharper poster images, channel logos never cropped
  • Improved backdrop handling: provider backdrops when the source offers them, otherwise a quality-limited poster fallback
  • Accelerated controller navigation: hold-to-scroll on every list (0.3 s delay, then faster and faster)
  • 45-second Next Episode countdown for series episodes:
  • ✕ Play now, ○ Cancel
  • with no button pressed, the next episode starts when the current one genuinely ends
  • Settings › Playback › Auto-play next episode, on by default
  • Continue Watching integration: Next Episode works the same from Continue Watching and Series Detail
  • Automatic season-to-season playback in the provider's episode order
  • Offline-aware Next Episode: in offline mode the next episode must already be downloaded
  • Native Kubuntu build workflow: this release was built and validated on Kubuntu Linux

Core features

  • Xtream Codes accounts and M3U / M3U8 playlists, with multiple sources
  • Live TV with categories, logos, favorites and fast zapping
  • Movies and Series with metadata, seasons and episodes
  • Search across everything, tolerant of small typos
  • Favorites, Continue Watching and Recently Watched with exact resume
  • Resumable offline downloads of movies and episodes, with offline playback
  • Multiple audio tracks and embedded subtitles with subtitle styling
  • Aspect Ratio, Crop / Fill, Zoom and video position applied live
  • English and Turkish UI with Unicode fallback fonts, and DualShock 4 navigation

This release PKG is built from the v0.3.0 tagged source. The V7 UI and core playback flow were tested on a physical PS4; the final 45-second countdown adjustment passed the automated release validation.

Release validation (Kubuntu, scripts/verify-ps4iptv.sh):

  • clean build with zero warnings from the project's sources;
  • 26,646 + 38 host test checks, 0 failures;
  • download integration test 46 + 19 checks, 0 failures;
  • English / Turkish localization checks;
  • pkg_validate 28 OK, exact PKG contents allow-list, PKG secret scan, system modules within the pPlay-proven set;
  • reachable-history secret scan CLEAN (fresh clone).

Known limitations

  • HTTPS media streams are not supported by the bundled FFmpeg playback stack (streams play over HTTP, RTMP, UDP, RTP). The Xtream API, images, playlist downloads and offline downloads use libcurl and do work over HTTPS.
  • M3U / M3U8 sources are Live TV only: no movie / series detection, Continue Watching or downloads.
  • No EPG / programme guide, recording or timeshift.
  • Video is decoded in software; very high bitrates or 4K may not play smoothly.
  • Scripts:
  • Thai, Devanagari and other Indic scripts, emoji and rare CJK characters show a box.
  • Arabic and Hebrew use basic right-to-left reordering, not full shaping.
  • Subtitles in scripts other than Latin, Greek and Cyrillic cannot be drawn.

V7 IPTV is free software under the GPL-3.0-or-later; see LICENSE and NOTICE for every bundled component. The tag v0.3.0 is the complete corresponding source of this PKG, together with the pinned upstream components that the build scripts download.

v0.2.0 · Oct 8, 2026

First public release of PS4 IPTV, a native IPTV client for jailbroken PlayStation 4 systems. It has been tested on a physical PS4.

> PS4 IPTV is a client only. It provides no channels, movies, series, accounts or playlists. Use it with your own source, and only download content you are permitted to store.

Highlights

  • Sources: Xtream Codes accounts and M3U / M3U8 playlists
  • Live TV with categories, channel logos and fast zapping
  • Movies and Series (Xtream): poster grids, details, seasons and episodes
  • Search across Live TV, Movies and Series; sorting; Favorites
  • Continue Watching with exact resume, Recently Watched
  • Offline downloads of movies and episodes with resume after interruptions, and offline playback
  • Multiple audio tracks and embedded subtitles, switchable during playback
  • Video geometry: Aspect Ratio, Crop / Fill, Zoom and position
  • DualShock 4 interface with accelerated hold-to-scroll and smooth scrolling; near-black TV design

  • M3U / M3U8 sources are Live TV only (no movie / series detection, Continue Watching or downloads).
  • No EPG, recording or timeshift. Video is decoded in software (very high bitrates / 4K may stutter).
  • Subtitles in scripts other than Latin, Greek and Cyrillic cannot be drawn.

Install

Install the PKG with the package installer of your PS4 homebrew environment, start PS4 IPTV and add an Xtream Codes or M3U / M3U8 source.

This is the exact package that passed hardware testing on a physical PS4. It was built before the repository was published. For publication the Git history was rewritten once, to replace author e-mail addresses and a host name in a unit test. As a result, the app's About screen shows the pre-publication commit ID 87f5bcd, which corresponds to commit c87b5e5 (tag v0.2.0). The application source is identical; only tests/host/test_images.cpp (not part of the PKG) and commit metadata differ.

Source

This release is built from tag v0.2.0. The tag plus the pinned upstream components that the build scripts download (pPlay commit 0399546 and the PacBrew PS4 packages listed with their SHA-256 hashes in scripts/setup-toolchain.ps1) are the complete corresponding source under the GPL-3.0.
