About Playfin

Finds Jellyfin servers on your network by itself, or takes an address such as 192.168.1.20:8096. It handles several servers with several users on each, sign-in with a password or Quick Connect, and self-signed HTTPS servers (their key is pinned the first time). It needs Jellyfin 10.10 or later.

H.264, HEVC, VP9 and AV1 video up to 1080p plays directly, and anything else is transcoded by the server. There's audio and subtitle track choice, resume, intro and credits skipping and next episode. Music has albums, artists, playlists, shuffle, repeat and a queue that keeps going while you browse. Live TV has a programme guide, and recordings can be scheduled and cancelled from the console.

Settings, the image cache and playfin.log go in /data/Playfin/. The developer runs it on a PS4 Fat on firmware 13.52.
