v03.36 · Oct 5, 2026
Dolphin for PS4 v03.36
Install
- From inside Dolphin (any version from v03.08): say Yes when it offers the update. Dolphin downloads
DolphinPS4-v03.36.pkginto/data/pkg/and checks it. Then close Dolphin and install it with GoldHEN → Package Installer (or Debug Settings → Game → Package Installer). Games, saves and settings are kept. - Or by hand: download
DolphinPS4-v03.36.pkgbelow and install it on top of the old version.
Changed since v03.33
- Updates go back to the package in
/data/pkg. The self-starting update (v03.33 / v03.34) was set aside as "didn't start" on some consoles and you stayed on the old version. Downloading the package and installing it with the package installer is simpler and works everywhere. Releases no longer include the update archive, so older versions download the package too.
Everything else is the same as v03.33.
v03.34 · Oct 5, 2026
Dolphin for PS4 v03.34
Same as v03.33 — this release tests the built-in updater. Nothing new to try.
Install
- On v03.08 or later: say Yes when Dolphin offers the update, then Restart Now. Your games, saves and settings are kept.
- Otherwise: install
DolphinPS4-v03.34.pkgby hand with your package installer, on top of the old version.
See v03.33 for everything new since v03.10.
v03.33 · Oct 5, 2026
Dolphin for PS4 v03.33
Install
- On v03.08 or later: say Yes when Dolphin offers the update, then Restart Now. Your games, saves and settings are kept.
- If the update doesn't start on v03.10 (or you're on v03.06 or older): install
DolphinPS4-v03.33.pkgby hand with your package installer, on top of the old version. v03.10's updater could fail to replace an earlier update's folder; from v03.33 on that's fixed. - On v03.03: don't update from inside that version (its updater uninstalls the app); install the package by hand.
New since v03.10
Games
- More file types:
.wad(WiiWare, Virtual Console, channels),.dol/.elf(homebrew) and.tgc(GameCube demo discs). - Set as Default ISO: press Triangle on a game → Set as Default ISO. Dolphin then starts that game straight away; hold L1 while it starts to get the menu instead.
- Spider-Man 2 runs at 30 FPS most of the time on a base PS4 (Fast speed features are now its default).
- Bully: in its heaviest scenes the automatic CPU clock may go down to 40%.
Controllers
- Motion controls: tilt, swing and shake the DualShock 4 to move the Wii Remote (Settings → System → Motion Controls, on by default). Needs an official DualShock 4 — many third-party controllers have no motion sensors.
- PS Move (experimental): Settings → System → Wii Remote Controller → Auto makes a PS Move that's on when a Wii game starts the Wii Remote. Not tested on hardware yet — logs welcome.
- Controller in Wii Games: Wii Remote, GameCube Controller or Both (default). Use GameCube Controller for Wii games that support one (Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl…).
- Wii settings only touch Wii games; a GameCube game's own settings no longer list them.
- Controls repair themselves: if a forced power-off emptied the controller files (no input in games), Dolphin restores the default controls. The files are now written safely so it can't happen again.
- Multiplayer check: what Dolphin finds (signed-in users, controllers) is written to
boot-trace.log. Each controller must be signed in as a different PS4 user.
Save states
- No more crash when saving in busy scenes: states no longer include the texture cache (a race in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! made a 148 MB state), and Dolphin borrows extra memory when its own runs out.
- Wii save states load: loading one always failed before and sent you back to the menu.
Wii
- Wii SD card: Settings → System → Wii SD Card, with folder sync (
/data/DolphinPS4/User/Load/WiiSDSync), write access and size.
Menus and languages
- 13 languages: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Português, Nederlands, Polski, Türkçe, Русский, 日本語, 中文, 한국어. Pick one at the first start or in Settings → System → Language; games use it too where they have it.
- New start-up animation: the dolphin leaps in through stardust.
Speed and stability
- No more stutter after every update: compiled shaders are kept across updates.
- Faster memory lookups in games that use the GameCube's memory mapping (Spider-Man 2, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One…).
- Consoles that block the fast CPU emulator (seen on some PS4 Pros) fall back to the slower one with a notice instead of crashing.
- The updater cleans up after itself: old update folders are now really deleted.

v03.10 · Oct 5, 2026
Dolphin for PS4 v03.10
Install
- On v03.08 or later: say Yes when Dolphin offers the update. It downloads a small update (about 50 MB), checks it and asks you to Restart Now; that's all. Your games, saves and settings are kept.
- On v03.06 or older: install
DolphinPS4-v03.10.pkgby hand with your package installer (on top of the old version is fine). From then on, updates install themselves. - On v03.03: don't update from inside that version (its updater uninstalls the app); install the package by hand.
Settings → About shows the version that runs, and the installed package's version if an update runs on top of it. The PS4's own game info keeps showing the installed package's version; that's normal.
New since v03.06
- Updates install themselves. Dolphin downloads the new version into
/data/DolphinPS4/appand starts it from there, the way the PS4 Homebrew Store updates itself. Nothing is reinstalled, and if an update ever fails to start, Dolphin goes back to the installed version on its own. - Faster games that use the GameCube's memory mapping (Spider-Man 2, Ultimate Spider-Man and others): memory lookups are done directly in the translated game code, and a page change no longer throws away all the cached lookups. If one of these games misbehaves, add
soft_tlb=flush(orjit_tlb_inline=off) to/data/DolphinPS4/ps4.iniand tell us on Discord. - GPU Texture Decoding (Settings → Graphics, off by default): decodes game textures on the PS4's GPU instead of the CPU. Worth a try in draw-heavy scenes; turn it off again if textures look wrong.

v03.06 · Oct 5, 2026
Dolphin for PS4 v03.06
> On v03.03? Don't update from inside that version: its updater uninstalls the app (your games, saves and settings are safe). Install this package by hand instead.
Install
- Install
DolphinPS4-v03.06.pkgwith your package installer (on top of an older version is fine; your games, saves and settings are kept). - On v03.04 or later you can also say Yes to the update prompt: Dolphin downloads and checks the package and puts it in
/data/pkg. Then close Dolphin and install it from Debug Settings → Game → Package Installer (or GoldHEN's). - Settings → About should show 03.06.
New since v03.04
- A new Library menu. Your games appear as a row of covers with the selected one up front, its title, platform and when you last played it, on a softly lit stage. Tabs for Library, Memory Cards, Settings and Themes switch with L1 / R1.
- Cross plays, Triangle opens the game's options, Square looks for new games, OPTIONS sorts by A-Z, Recently Played or Platform.
- Prefer the old look? Settings → Menu Style → XMB.
- Memory cards. See every GameCube save with its own icon, title, size and date, in both menu styles.
- Create new, empty memory cards and choose which one sits in Slot A. Your other cards keep their saves.
- Your existing saves are on Memory Card 1.

v03.04 · Oct 5, 2026
Dolphin for PS4 v03.04
> On v03.03? Don't update from inside that version: its updater uninstalls the app (your games, saves and settings are safe). Install this package by hand instead.
Install
- Install
DolphinPS4-v03.04.pkgwith your package installer (on top of an older version is fine; your games, saves and settings are kept). - Games go in
/data/DolphinPS4/games/, or pick another folder in Settings → Game Folder. - Settings → About should show 03.04.
New since v02.99
- Updates from inside the app. Dolphin checks GitHub for a new version when it starts (or in Settings) and asks before downloading it. The package is checked and saved to
/data/pkg; close Dolphin and install it from Debug Settings → Game → Package Installer (or GoldHEN's). This release still has to be installed by hand. - Choose your games folder. Settings → Game Folder browses the PS4's folders and USB drives. Press Square in the Games column to refresh the list after copying new games.
- Safer save states. The Save/Load rows show whether a slot is Empty or from an Other Version. A state that can't be loaded is never loaded halfway: the game carries on as it was and the menu tells you why. States from earlier versions keep working.
- Network fixed. Cover downloads and the update check work again.
- Wii Menu no longer crashes the console. Picking Wii Menu in a Wii game's HOME Menu now returns to the game list.
- Menu hint. When a game starts, a short hint in the bottom-right corner shows the L3 + R3 buttons that open the menu.
- Smoother shader compiling. The shader compilers can now also run on the PS4's seventh CPU core.
- Better speed in Spider-Man 2, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Games that use the GameCube's memory mapping (Spider-Man 2 is one) no longer freeze with the Fast speed setting.
- Smarter auto CPU clock. It undoes a clock increase that didn't help with dropped frames.
- Logs no longer fill up with the same message repeated thousands of times.
See the README for controls, tips and tested games.
