PKSM changelog

v10.4.2 · Oct 25, 2026

What's new

  • Fixed: PKSM failing to start with error 0xC8804464 or std::bad_alloc, even after a clean reinstall (fix #1581, fix #1597)
  • Both were caused by a corrupted PKSM extdata, which is not removed when PKSM is uninstalled or reinstalled
  • PKSM now detects it on boot and asks whether to reset it. Storage banks kept in the extdata will be lost, as they were already unreadable
  • Fixed: the additional assets download failing with error 0xFFFFFE6D on some consoles (fix #1586)
  • When the main CDN turns your console away, PKSM now falls back to a mirror on GitHub. Downloaded assets are still verified before being used
  • Fixed: extra saves added or removed not being remembered after restarting PKSM, unless an unrelated setting was changed as well (fix #1594)
  • Fixed: Gen 1/2/3 items turning into a different item or disappearing when edited in the bag, Gen 3 HMs included
  • Fixed: Gen 1 bags showing leftover items that had already been tossed
  • Fixed: items losing their marks, such as new and favourite, when the bag is edited in Gen 7
  • Fixed: editing the bag leaving stale data behind in the slots of Sword/Shield
  • Fixed: item lists drifting from what the games actually accept
  • Sword/Shield now include the Crown Tundra key items (Reins of Unity, Legendary Clues, Crown Pass and more), Galarica Wreath, Dynite Ore and Ability Patch, and no longer list duplicates
  • Emerald, FireRed/LeafGreen and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire no longer list key items from other games, and X/Y now include the Poké Flute
  • Fixed: the swarms script now shows the right swarms for HeartGold or SoulSilver, instead of listing both games' at once
  • Fixed: the inject-bank-to-dex script always failing with "Impossible Ball" on Gen 3 saves (fix PKSM-Scripts #65)
  • All submodules and build dependencies updated to latest release
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience

Thanking @Omar-Kay for the contributions to PKSM-Core and @SpiredMoth for the contributions to PKSM-Scripts.

  • The faster scanner introduced in 10.4.0 has been temporarily reverted while a proper fix is worked on

  • Logs are accessible in files located in /3ds/PKSM/logs, which are split by day.
  • Logs are also accessible at runtime through an integrated HTTP server at the following addresses:
  • http://3ds-ip-address:8000/logs/memory for the logs of PKSM's current run

v10.1.3 · Feb 15, 2025

Preface

Back in 2019, I (@FM1337) came up with an idea called GPSS, it was a way for users to be able to share Pokemon together with other people, kinda like the GTS, except you're not trading, you're sharing a copy. Later it also allowed me to introduce a often requested feature of auto legalization (with the help of @piepie62 of course).

Ran it for almost 6 years, but now it's time for me to move on, I'm handing control of FlagBrew back over to @BernardoGiordano and stepping away from the team.

It's been a fun journey, but alas everything comes to an end, and with that comes the discontinuation of GPSS and Auto Legality, at-least from me.

I'm not going to leave you all in the dark, before this release I wrote a little C# application that let's you run your own GPSS server, you can grab it at https://github.com/FlagBrew/local-gpss

With it, comes essentially all the cloud features (GPSS, Legality Status, Auto Legality), all hosted within your own network.

First time you run PKSM after this update, if you go to use one of the cloud features, you'll be prompted to go into settings and set your server's URL (it MUST end with a slash), once you do that, you should be good to go.

And with that, let's get down to the changes

Changes

  • New settings page tab introduced
  • Titled API, it allows you to enter the server URL of Local GPSS.
  • Updated GPSS to require setting the Local GPSS server URL before it can be accessed.
  • Updated Legality Check & Auto Legality to require GPSS server URL to be set before it can be used.
  • Added timeout value (10 seconds for legality check, 120 seconds for auto legalization) to ensure you don't lock your console up if you input a bad URL or forget to start the server
  • Removed GPSS Mobile button
  • French Ribbons Labels fixed (thank you @Zanguu)
  • Removed Random GPSS Pokemon script from PKSM-Scripts
  • Perhaps someone could open a PR and add the functionality into Local GPSS so that it could be added again?
  • Disabled patreon builds.
  • Build action on GitHub now publishes the builds
  • Added curl timeouts to GPSS pages

Farewell

Well this is the last build/release from me, I got a few other things to take care of, but I just wanted to say thank you everyone for using PKSM (No PKSM isn't going away, I'm sure there'll be plenty of updates for it in the future), thank you to @piepie62 @LiquidFenrir @BernardoGiordano @architdate @GriffinG1 @SpiredMoth @JourneyOver @Admiral-Fish for being awesome team members, and a sincere thank you to everyone who has helped out with PKSM over the years!

I'll have a final goodbye message on FlagBrew's Discord soon enough, but yeah, thank you and farewell 🫡

~~Hey everyone, long time no speak again huh?~~

Joking aside, this addresses a bug that I failed to notice until someone reported it.

This release fixes the bag editor item list bug, as well as the commit hash missing from the version in the top right corner of the screen.

v10.1.0 · Apr 3, 2024

PKSM 10.1.0

Hey everyone, long time no speak again huh?

This isn't a major release or anything, just bringing some existing bug fixes into release so address some issues.

I (@FM1337) have started looking into Switch development for PKSM, it is gonna take some time so don't expect anything any time soon.

Additionally, it is all but confirmed that our main developer is no longer available for continuing development for PKSM, as such I will take over and do what I can, but I'm not a C++ developer, so outside help through pull requests is much appreciated (and will likely be needed).

That being said, the bug fixes that our main developer had finished will be listed below in the form of referencing the GitHub issue number.

Fixes

  • Fixed #1372
  • Fixed #1373
  • Fixed #1374
  • Fixed #1381
  • Fixed #1384
  • Fixed #1391
  • Fixed #1392
  • Fixed #1394
  • Fixed GPSS download codes not working.

From the entire FlagBrew team, we'd like to thank our Patreon supporters, and we would also like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the long intervals in between updates.

Note: the ELF file here is for ease of finding it for future debugging. It is unlikely anyone downloading PKSM will need it.

v9.0.0 · Jun 13, 2020

What's New

  • Generation 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green) support has been added. These games are accessible through normal Extra Saves configuration and direct GBA VC save edits.
  • All features should be available for these games except for Mystery Gifts
  • Most generation 3 Mystery Gifts are distributed as PK3 files, which you can inject via the script injector.c
  • ~~A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Generation 3 saves must have the Pokédex before you can edit them in any sane way. We are looking into a way to handle this in the future, but for now avoid editing Generation 3 saves without the Pokédex.~~ This was a red herring found in testing. Please disregard it.
  • Pokemon Templates: Taking inspiration from PKHeX's method of trainer defaults, there is now one Pokémon per generation that you can set to be your "template". All values from this template will be taken except for the following:
  • Species
  • Nickname
  • Form
  • Ability
  • PID
  • Additionally, if you have the "use save data" option set, the following will be ignored as well:
  • TID
  • SID
  • OT Name
  • OT Gender
  • Origin game
  • Met location (will be set to route 1 of the current game)
  • Compatibility with GPSS Mobile: Legalization can now be done through the GPSS Mobile application, either via QR code or over the network
  • Legal Living Dex: There is now a legal living dex script. Do note that it requires an Internet connection to work properly.
  • Other new scripts have also been added, including a random team that pulls from the GPSS and a batch editor
  • Unreleased Wonder Cards: Unreleased wonder cards, such as the Azure Flute, are now included in PKSM.
  • When entering the injection menu, a warning will pop up if the category includes unreleased wonder cards.

Fixes and behind-the-scenes changes

  • Fix DS writes being reported as far larger than they actually are
  • Make sure that the save is in a consistent state after scripts run
  • Make the sound playing a lot more efficient and a lot less error-prone
  • Fix cloning while in blue-cursor mode acting oddly
  • Make green-cursor mode cloning clone the entire selected group
  • Fix bank names being reset on every load
  • Fix setting party Pokémon not updating level and stats
  • Locations displayed in misc editor are now based on the origin game of the Pokémon instead of the current save
  • Change "release" to work in a more predictable way
  • Now releases the currently held Pokémon if they exist, otherwise the Pokémon under the cursor or, in the case of green-cursor mode, currently selected
  • Fix networking code sometimes fully locking up
  • Fix possible issues with mystery gift updates
  • Fix error code 0xE0E046BE on Archive::init
  • Fix HM07 and HM08 in item selection areas
  • Fix JSON exceptions on accessing the GPSS screen without an internet connection
  • Fix Wonder Card packing non-identical cards together in some cases
  • General code cleanup and optimization

v8.0.2 · Jan 29, 2020

Another bugfix release! This is also to address changes that happened with the legalization endpoint after the release of 8.0.1, as it was fairly buggy for a bit. Legalization should work with this build at the time of release.

Fixes

  • Now loads and converts the old bank.bin format properly
  • A couple missing translation strings were added, so now they should display properly
  • The legalization button now waits for you to take your finger/stylus off the screen so you don't accidentally press it after checking legality
  • GPSS downloading via code works again
  • An error in converting old banks that caused crashes was fixed
  • Added extra error checking
  • Prevented the addition of more than 6 Pokémon to a group upload, causing hilarious visual bugs
  • Fixed moving empty slots in green cursor mode causing crashes
  • Fixed box swap bringing up "endless" error messages
  • Fixed box swap erroring on swapping empty slots
  • Fixed BW/B2W2 mystery gift errors
  • Fixed inject.c script crashing if /3ds/PKSM/inject doesn't exist or is empty

  • CIA install and download of updates after this one should be much faster
  • Failed connection to internet-based services will only take 10 seconds instead of 30

v8.0.0 · Jan 22, 2020

What's New

  • Generation 8 (Sword and Shield) support has been added to core code. Sending a save over the network will allow you to edit it. However, no new sprites are included, so your Galarian Pokémon will be invisible.
  • You will be able to send a Sword/Shield save file from your Switch running the next version of Checkpoint (time of writing this is 3.7.4, which will not work)
  • GPSS groups: "packages" of two to six Pokémon can be downloaded all at once
  • Pressing Y in the GPSS viewer will take you to the GPSS group viewing screen.
  • They are shown on the top screen in five rows, one group per row
  • You can download a group by pressing A on any of the Pokémon in that group
  • You can upload a group by pressing A on the Pokémon in your storage. Once you have 6 Pokémon selected, a prompt will pop up asking if you'd like to upload. You can also press X to bring this prompt up before selecting 6 Pokémon.
  • Auto Legalization: powered by @architdate's AutoLegality mod for PKHeX
  • After checking the legality of a Pokémon, you can press the on-screen button to attempt to automatically fix those issues.
  • Only works with an active Internet connection
  • Self-updating Mystery Gift Database: on startup, PKSM will automatically check with the FlagBrew website to see if there are new Wonder Cards to download
  • This means that full application updates are no longer necessary to update the database

Changes

  • Storage is now accessible for both LGPE and SWSH saves
  • Neither of these formats can be transferred to any other save type
  • DS game icons are now shown
  • Cart scanning should work more consistently
  • The wireless button on the game selection screen is now clickable without first selecting a game
  • Pokémon generated for X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire will not have legality issues referring to memories and geolocation by default
  • Generation four games will use UPPERCASE letters for their names, as the games would
  • Script APIs have changed. See their wiki for specifics
  • All scripts should have been updated to use the new APIs properly. As always, report issues encountered while running scripts on the script repository
  • The QR scanner now blocks going to the home menu
  • If this were not the case, trying to exit the application from the home menu would freeze the 3DS
  • An error is shown if a scanned QR code does not match the expected format
  • The QR scanner follows updated PKHeX Wonder Card QR specifications
  • The app icon now bounces around the screen as an indicator that the application is working
  • A bunch of changes to GPSS retrieval code will make the viewing experience much more seamless when switching pages
  • Editing real-world location bytes is now allowed by default
  • The meanings of the values will be shown on the bottom screen

Fixes and behind-the-scenes changes

  • Internal changes to remove music dependencies happened. Playback of MP3 files should still work properly (thanks to @Oreo639 for this!)
  • Fix Korean fourth-gen games not being detected properly
  • Fix problems in setting some long OT names and nicknames when generating
  • Fix displaying incorrect BP data for fifth-gen games
  • Fix setting abilities that changed when transferring upwards
  • Fix fifth-gen games showing the wrong amount of Wonder Cards in the main menu
  • Fix fifth-gen games having a corrupted Wonder Card in the first slot
  • Fix transferring from fifth-gen games to fourth-gen games messing with the nature
  • Fix duplication behavior when multiple Pokémon are selected
  • In several places, text would overlap other things. This should now be fixed.
  • Fix and improve translations
  • General code cleanup and optimization

Other notices

  • As PKSM does have an auto-updater, you likely will not have to update manually
  • In the future, PKSM will make full backups of your ExtData when it updates itself. This is, unfortunately, impossible to make work during this upgrade.
  • Because of the storage now supporting generation eight and LGPE Pokémon, your storage file will be incompatible with earlier version of PKSM in very, very breaking ways. Do NOT downgrade from this release, even if you experience issues. I (@piepie62, Discord name piepie62#3412) will personally work with you in the Discord server linked below to solve your issues as well as I can. Downgrading as a part of your troubleshooting process is far more likely to break things more than help them.
  • Breaking API changes in the FlagBrew website have occurred. This means that PKSM 7.0.1 will likely crash when trying to access the GPSS.

v7.0.1 · Sep 10, 2019

This is a bugfix release, addressing issues that I did not catch in 7.0.0. Updating is highly recommended.
Bugs fixed include:

  • Accidentally showing the wrong game name in ExtraSaves config for ORAS
  • Not counting Pokémon with encryption constant 0 as valid
  • Creating a new storage group would instantly error
  • Storage group name character limit being too long, causing error 0xE0E046C7
  • Not saving changes to storage box names if no Pokémon were edited
  • Setting the max length Pokémon name for generations 6 and 7 cut off the last character

Remember, PKSM now has an auto updater! You likely will not have to download and install this manually if you already upgraded to 7.0.0

v7.0.0 · Sep 8, 2019

  • GPSS, a cloud-based Pokémon sharing service! Easily upload your Pokémon to share with any other PKSM user.
  • Think the GTS, except you don't have to get/give anything in return and you can't be sniped.
  • Note: Once a month all Pokémon currently on the GPSS are checked for their monthly download count and are deleted if it's 0.
  • You can browse the GPSS from within PKSM or your web browser.
  • You can also upload Pokémon from your PC.
  • This is the only planned servepkx replacement.
  • Cloud-based legalization! (replacement for serveLegality)
  • Add new Misc section to the editor which adds met location editing.
  • Add instructions: In many places PKSM now has simple built-in instructions that can be viewed by pressing Select.
  • Add multiple font support
  • Shows Pokémon-specific characters
  • Shows Korean characters on non-Korean consoles
  • Auto updater! Thanks to @joel16 for the CIA updating code
  • You can disable the updater in the settings menu
  • Update scripts: thanks to @PKMWM1 for contributing another large batch of scripts.
  • There are also new additions to the PicoC scripting API, for those interested in developing scripts. See the wiki for more info.
  • A collaboration between @piepie62 and @FM1337 has also resulted in a script sending utility and a script receiving script! These can be used for easy script development during the debugging stage
  • Emergency Mode editor: if you have a Pokémon stuck in storage and it is untransferable to any game, talk to @piepie62 on the FlagBrew Discord for a walkthrough on how to use it (it is pretty dangerous, which is why the way to access it is unreleased).
  • Multi bank: You can now organize your collection into multiple banks, similar to Pokémon Bank's box groups.
  • Yes, it is possible to pick Pokémon up from one bank and place them into another without temporarily storing them in the save
  • Multi clone: You can now clone multiple Pokémon at once, without going through a tedious workaround.
  • Filtering in Storage
  • You can filter by species, form, and moves in the storage screen! More filter options to follow in later releases...
  • Show save info on main menu: The top screen of the main menu now shows some basic info pulled from the save:
  • OT
  • TID/SID
  • badges/stamps
  • Wondercards
  • National Dex seen and owned counts
  • Remove default music: Music player is still there, but you'll have to provide your own music.
  • Second bank backup
  • Add setting to show all automatically generated backups
  • Redesign main menu
  • Show typing in the editor
  • Fix bug if 3ds folder doesn't exist
  • Disallow home button in scripts as it can cause issues
  • Add a screen to configure Extra Saves

> Note: If loading slowly, try deleting some old backups! This helped a team member go from an about 10 second load time to 2.

v6.0.0 · Dec 31, 2018

This is the first PKSM release that happens after the FlagBrew rebrand and it couldn't be a better one.

After exactly 11 months and 11 days of combined work, we finally reached this milestone.

PKSM 6.0.0 is the most intensive software update we've ever worked on, which required us to rewrite PKSM from scratch, from C to C++.

Before showing you the awesome features packed in this update, I would really like to thank all the people that have been involved in it.

Really thank you,

  • @piepie62 and @Admiral-Fish to have worked on the code with such perseverance and dedication
  • @dsoldier to have given this software a look that doesn't deserve it to be just called an homebrew
  • @SpiredMoth and @trainboy2019 for all the scripts that let PKSM do things that we couldn't have ever imagined
  • @Methylnaltrexone, @Y0ndaime, @Gudf, @forthepokemans, @CaptainBarnaklez for the work on translations
  • Subject21_J and all the people who submitted ideas for the new icon
  • Mewmore for the music background
  • Allen, piepie62, SpiredMoth and all the documentation contributors
  • All the patrons and the FlagBrew team

Sincerely, Bernardo and the FlagBrew team.

Upgrading from 5.1.4

This shouldn't require any operation from the user, but just to make really sure, backup your bank.bin file to a safe place. The storage will automatically be converted to the new format once you boot up PKSM.

There shouldn't really need to do anything

What's new

  • **Game support has been extended to cover every functionality from Generation 4 to LGPE**. This includes, among the others, Storage, Editor and Scripts.
  • This means that Editor and Storage are now available for DS games. More on that later.
  • This also means that Editor is available for LGPE.
  • Storage is currently not available for LGPE. As of right now, we just don't have a good example of how it will work.
  • The title loader has been completely redesigned to highly improve the user experience.
  • The user interface is now more Checkpoint-esque. PKSM will automatically retrieve any valid title (cartridge and digital) that is currently available in your console.
  • Title loader now supports cartridge hotswapping. You can now remove the cartridge while in it and put another one. The title list will automatically reflect the changes in the interface.
  • Title loader is now able to load the save file for a certain title from both the actual save archive and the SD card.
  • This means that you're now able to load any save file for a certain game, provided they're located in a folder specified in the configuration file (more about this later).
  • PKSM automatically adds Checkpoint's working path to the list of valid folders to look for save files. This means you'll be able to directly edit your save backups you made with Checkpoint.
  • While the main title loader interface lets you only work with save files you have games for, *how do you work with save file you don't actually have games in your console*? You're welcome, we thought about this too. Title loader now has an additional tab in which you can choose save files for not directly available titles, giving you the opportunity to edit whatever you want. What has already been said about SD card save backup loading also applies to this menu.
  • It's now possible to return to the title loader once you're done making changes to a save file, instead of having to close PKSM and boot it back up.
  • You can edit PKSM's configurations by pressing SELECT, which will let you enter the configuration menu before the main menu is even loaded. More about configurations will be said later.
  • The title loader has now a wireless loading feature, with which you can load a save file from your local network, that can be sent back when you're done applying your changes.
  • This directly allows you to load LGPE saves over the network using Checkpoint for Switch.
  • Warning: once you enter the wireless loader (you'll be prompted before entering it, to make sure you don't misclick on it) you won't be able to return back without receiving a save file. If you're in this situation and don't know what to do, rebooting your console will be mandatory.
  • The Storage functionality has been completely redesigned. It's now possible to browse Storage for every game, from DPPt to USUM.
  • It's now possible, among the already available functionalities, to clone from the Storage itself.
  • Transfer through generations is available. This means you can perform a complete Gen4 <-> Gen7 swap in freedom.
  • Transfer through generations needs to be specifically allowed from the configurations, because it changes the original pokemon data. The option to allow is Edit during transfers (or the equivalent in the language you're familiar to).
  • Please note that conversions are still experimental and there will be edge cases not covered. Please always make a save/storage backup using Checkpoint.
  • Box renaming is available for both save and storage boxes. PLEASE NOTE: THIS FEATURE IS CURRENTLY BROKEN. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO NOT USE IT
  • Storage size expansion has been enabled once again. Default Storage size is still 150 boxes, but the upper limit is now set to 2000.
  • The Editor has been completely redesigned as well.
  • Supports every game from DPPt to LGPE.
  • Hex Editor and QR Code scanner are also available from DPPt to USUM.
  • Party editing is now possible.
  • Cloning is possible by pressing X.
  • Box renaming is available here, too.
  • You're now prompted if you're exiting a pkm edit session without saving.
  • A Bag editor has been included. You can now edit most sections of your bag, for every game supported by PKSM.
  • You're allowed to change the item by tapping on the dedicated button, and increase or decrease the amount using the touch screen.
  • Dynamic addition and removal of items is also available.
  • The Event database has been finally updated to include all the latest wondercards.
  • New wondercards will be automatically fetched from the EventsGallery when you compile PKSM from scratch, or we push a new release. This means manual work is not required anymore to include wondercards.
  • Dumping wondercards you own is possible by pressing X in the event list.
  • QR code wondercard injection is available as well, and has been extended to support all wondercard formats from Gen4 to Gen7.
  • Scripts have been greatly enhanced as well. We'll be short but this describing the latest changes would require a dedicate changelog.
  • Default scripts are now built-in. Thanks to the recent work by many scripters, there are now more than 800 scripts available for everyone to use.
  • This means every new PKSM update will always contain default scripts. Placing default ones in the SD card is not required anymore.
  • Support for scripts written in C. PKSM now has a built-in **C interpreter** which will allow you to write more complex scripts directly in C.
  • This directly means you're allowed to use standard library functions in scripts, create variables, doing math operations and work with pointers. Good stuff.
  • Some APIs you can use in your scripts are directly provided by PKSM, and they focus on user interaction, keyboard access and utility functions.
  • You can always request some more if you're about to develop a new script which requires a functionality not yet available from PKSM.
  • Support for folders. Scripts are now organized in folders, to make the UI more elegant and accessible.
  • You're allowed to place your own scripts into the SD card and switch between built-in and your own from the UI itself.
  • The QR code scanner has been vastly improved to allow for a smoother experience. This will allow you to scan big QR codes faster then ever before.
  • The Configuration menu has been vastly redesigned to get rid of the unintuitive hex editor-like user interface.
  • Interface language can be changed in real time.
  • This version of PKSM ships with English, Italian, Spanish, French and German already supported. Other languages haven't been contributed by native speakers yet, and we hope to support more languages in the next updates.
  • Default values like the OT Name can now be edited through the keyboard.
  • Some more options that affect all the other section of the application are available.
  • PKSM now relies on extdata to store important data, like the storage and configurations.
  • This means you can now use Checkpoint to make a proper and easy backup of your relevant PKSM data, like the whole storage file and configurations. Sharing your data is now more convenient, too.
  • You're also allowed to move the storage data to the SD card.
  • Warning: proper extdata support for PKSM is only granted from Checkpoint 3.6.0 and above. Don't try restoring a PKSM save backup with a version inferior to the one suggested.
  • Support for \*hax (also known as just homebrew) has been dropped. PKSM only works under a Luma3DS environment.
  • Specifically, PKSM will check for the hb:ldr port, which is available, for example, through the Rosalina system module.
  • If you try booting PKSM under *hax, it will return to the homebrew launcher.
  • This also means PKSM will not work in Citra.
  • PKSM now supports audio playback. Audio will start once boot is completed.
  • There actually is no way to stop the audio playback, so turn down the volume in case it starts getting annoying.
  • It's possible to provide your own audio soundtracks by placing .mp3 files in the sdmc:/3ds/PKSM/songs folder.
  • It's suggested to provide relatively small sized files. We generally suggest tracks with a length of no more than 4 minutes, single channel, with a sampling frequency of 44100Hz and a bitrate of 96kbps.
  • These characteristics are not actual constraints: you can throw whatever you want into the SD card and PKSM will mostly be able to work with it fine.
  • You can convert a track to get these characteristics through ffmpeg.
  • A search function for species has been implemented so you're now able to search a Pokemon with your keyboard rather than scrolling the entire list while generating one or changing the species.
  • Tons of other stuff. Really everything changed from the latest release.
  • Last but not least, a whole documentation in .html format explaining in details how PKSM works! The documentation will be bundled with every release, and the most up-to-date version will always be accessible through the *Github wiki for this project.

v5.1.0 · Dec 31, 2017

Happy new year!

  • Added: Custom scripts intepretation and execution. I would like to state that this is not a language intepreter, but an interpreter of .pksm files, that have a certain syntax and can be created with an ad-hoc tool (more on this later). This new feature allows arbitrary data injection into the saves through scripts already available (see below) and/or scripts that you can make on your own.
  • Scripts are Powersaves-like, such as Set max money, Clear Mystery Gift data, Reset legendary encounters, Inject living dex and so on.
  • The only limit to the scripts is your imagination! Some fancy scripts have already been made, like Reset Delta Episode for ORAS, for example.
  • Scripts can run on every game supported from PKSM: from DPPT to USUM. This means this is the first time from PKSM's release that DS games have more than just even injection support. Currently, 17 different games have script execution support.
  • Scripts are located under /3ds/PKSM/scripts/<game>. You can add your own by placing them in the right folder.
  • Fixed: QR Code scanning has been strongly enhanced (thanks AstronautLevel)!
  • Fixed: Pokedex flags are now set properly during storage transfers and generation.
  • Fixed: The yellow button doesn't turn on the nickname flag anymore.
  • Added: You're now able to set a custom date for the wondercards to be injected. Date can be changed into the settings menu.
  • Added: Wondercard slot selection menu.
  • Added: MysteryGiftDump has been merged into PKSM. You're now able to dump your wondercard directly from PKSM.
  • Added: badsectors has been merged into PKSM. You're now able to fix eventual bad slots into your storage file directly from PKSM.
  • Added: Now storage previews nature and IVs too.
  • Fixed: Check for battle boxes for USUM too.
  • Fixed: Trainer data during transfers is now handled properly.
  • Fixed: Dump logic enhanced. You will now be able to dump just one pkmn from your storage or save, rather than the whole storage.
  • Fixed: Bug where you were able to tweak PKSM to trade gen7 pkmn to pre-gen7 games.
  • Fixed: Pkmn generation will now generate old generations legendaries with a clover.
  • Fixed: Bug where you could overflow abilities in the hex editor and crash the application.
  • Added: New batch of wondercard + old wondercards previously removed.
  • Fixed: GUI changes.
  • Added: Custom splash screen (thanks dsoldier and FrozenFire).
  • Removed: Russian localization has been removed because no one contributed to it from long time.
  • Removed: Pokedex viewer.
  • Enhanced: Further improvements to overall PKSM stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

Scripting

You can build your own scripts using PKSMScript.py, which requires Python3 to run.

You're allowed to inject raw data from files or just values with choice of offset, length and amount of repetition, and concatenate more little payloads together. You can find example scripts here.

The PKSM-Tools suite (that contains the scripts, too) has been updated as well, download it here.

v5.0.1 · Nov 20, 2017

What's new?

  • Fixed: Form editing crash is now fixed.
  • Fixed: New forms moved into storage can now return back to your saves.
  • Fixed: Save corruption for HG/SS/PT after event injections has been fixed.
  • This was due to some offsets messed up during the latest refactoring.
  • Fixed: Marshadow is now visible/editable in the editor. It wasn't so in 5.0.0 due to a graphic bug.
  • Fixed: Moves/items list isn't cut anymore.
  • Fixed: Moves/items introduced in new generations can't be given to pkmns in older generations anymore.
  • Fixed: Dex flag setting is now fixed (thanks @kwsch).
  • Fixed: Bulk storage transfers now set pokedex flags correctly.
  • Fixed: Crash when accidentally going past byte 231 in the hex editor is now fixed.
  • Fixed: Opening the QR Code scanner is now more precise (thanks @AnalogMan151).
  • Fixed: Some localization strings are now translated.
  • Added: National Dex number is now visible in the extra storage info box.

I also noticed that the QR Code scanner is hard to use for some of you. Here are some tips:

  • Follow the guidelines precisely.
  • Keep firm hands, don't be shaky.
  • Keep the camera exactly perpendicular to the QR code. The QR code shouldn't appear as curved in the screen at all: this seems to be the cause to most of the fails.

v5.0.0 · Nov 17, 2017

What's new?

  • Added: USUM support. Editor, extra storage and wondercard injection are fully supported.
  • Added: QR code scanning. You can now directly scan PKHeX and MysteryGiftBot's QR Codes to inject pkmn files or wondercards.
  • Said QR codes are really really big so it will take a while to become good at scanning them. Make sure you have firm hands and fully follow the guidelines precisely.
  • Fixed: Huge rewriting. Did a huge refactoring work and the application is now more fluid and consumes less memory.
  • Fixed: Brand new configuration menu, with more options to personalize your user experience.
  • Removed: Autoupdater has been removed, update with FBI.
  • Removed: Game launch feature. Couldn't reproduce some bugs you reported me so I decided the laziest way to sort out things.
  • Joking, I didn't like the feature anymore.
  • Changed: now the working path is /3ds/PKSM and not 3ds/data/PKSM.
  • Bug introduced: Storage resizing doesn't work anymore and I did comment the feature until I understand why it broke.
  • Fixed: tons of other stuff.

Since the working path changed, you need to manually move your bank.bin file to the new location. Keep this in mind before reporting your whole storage is gone.

New QR code feature showcase

In my opinion, this changelog doesn't pay respect to the amount of work that this update required. I'll just attach the new readme file I did, so it can showcase all the features to old and new users. Have fun!

PKSM
=====
License

Multipurpose and portable save manager for generations IV-VII, programmed in C.

  • Supports original cartridges and digital copies of games from DPPT to USUM
  • Allows on-the-fly modifications to all of your data
  • Allows internal and resizable offline storage to store your pkmns
  • Interfaces with multiple ad-hoc programs running on your computer, web browser or smartphone
  • Capable of scanning QR codes to inject both pkmn files or event wondercards
  • Contains an offline wondercard database to get events from old distributions

I do not support or condone cheating at the expense of others. Do not use significantly edited pkmn in battle or in trades with those who are unaware edited pkmn are in use.

Installation

This software works on cfw and *hax/rosalina-based Homebrew Launchers. An internet connection may be required at the first launch.

| Entrypoint | Instructions |
| :--------: | :----------- |
| cfw | Install the PKSM.cia file provided in the release page with your favourite installer. You can now launch the application from the home menu |
| rosalina hbl | Move PKSM.3dsx from the rosalina folder in the PKSM.zip file. You can now launch PKSM from a rosalina-based homebrew launcher |
| *hax hbl | Move PKSM.3dsx and PKSM.xml from the standard folder in the PKSM.zip file. You can now launch PKSM from a *hax-based homebrew launcher |

If you get a failed to receive a status code error, you may want to connect your console to the internet. This is needed to download the additional assets required for the application to launch.

You need internet access to download the additional assets. If you can't still download them through the application, put them manually in the SD card, extracting the external additionalassets folder in your SD card, located at /3ds/PKSM/. The final result should be a folder filled with assets, located at /3ds/PKSM/additionalassets/.

DS cartridges

To let PKSM load your DS save correctly:

  • If using rosalina, you need to inject the homebrew launcher in a title that has DS saves access.
  • If using *hax, you need to select a target title that has DS save access when selecting PKSM from the homebrew launcher.

A title satisfying those specifics is, for example, Pokétransporter.

Applications supported by PKSM

  • serveLegality: PC tool to check and fix a pkmn's legality.
  • PKHeX: Generates .pk7, .pk6, .wc7, .wc6 QR codes scannable from PKSM. Runs on PC.
  • MysteryGiftBot: Generates .wc7 QR codes scannable from PKSM. Runs on Twitter.
  • servepkx: multiplatform tool to send .pk7, .pk6, .wc7full, .wc6full, .wc7, .wc6 files to PKSM. Requires a web browser or JRE.
  • phbank2pksm: tool to convert a PHBank bank file to a PKSM storage file. Requires a web browser.
  • badsectors: tool to fix bad slots in the PKSM storage file. Runs on the homebrew launcher.

Working path

  • Additional assets are located at /3ds/PKSM/additionalassets/
  • Automatic save backups are located at /3ds/PKSM/backup/[GAME_DATE]/main
  • Extra storage backups are located at /3ds/PKSM/bank/bank_[DATE].bak

Troubleshooting

Before submitting an issue, look for it into the issues page, because it could have been already answered in the past.

Please only do consistent issues (submitting your environment and which version of PKSM you're running), without asking for the moon: I'm working for free here. Duplicate issues will be closed without any reply.

I'll not reply to issues related to versions of PKSM different from the latest stable release currently available.

v4.5.0 · Sep 3, 2017

What's new:

  • Added: PKSM now uses pp2d as graphic library, instead of sf2d. This will grant very fast loading times (pretty istantaneous) and a cleaner UI. This will also work with every *hax payload, since there are no more deprecated libraries used to build PKSM.
  • Size for the executable is now 1.5MB lighter than usual, and consumes less memory.
  • The new library will also grant homebrew launcher support even if payloads doesn't work perfectly. No more red screens! Obviously, make sure to use the latest homebrew launcher build.
  • Added: wondercard database updated
  • Fixed: event injection for gen4 works now
  • Fixed: game launch issue should be fixed
  • Fixed: updater no longer deletes PKSM if you're attempting to download the same release you have already installed
  • Fixed: translations updated
  • Removed: PKSM is now compilable without any of the old library dependencies. libjpeg-turbo, libfreetype, libpng, zlib, sfillib, sftdlib, sf2dlib and buildtools are no longer required
  • Removed: PKSV is deprecated now, so there will not be new builds for it

All the PKSM-related tools have been moved to a separate repository! PKSM-Tools contains now the following software:

  • badsectors: cleans possible corrupted slots in the PKSM extra storage file.
  • MysteryGiftDump: exports gen6+ wondercards into the SD card.
  • phbank2pksm: converts a phbank storage file into a PKSM compatible one.
  • serveLegality: windows application that receives pkmn from PKSM wirelessly, checks their legality and sends them back legal if they have something wrong.
  • Huge thanks to ArchitDate, Kaphotics and SciresM for PKHeX.Core and PKHeX AutoLegality-mod!
  • servepkx: cross-platform (java/web browser) application to send compatible files to PKSM.
  • java version supports pkx only + bulk pkx import;
  • web-browser version supports single pkx, wcx and wcxfull imports.
  • TeamListFiller: fills a VGC17 teamlist automatically and exports it into the SD card as printable.

You can download PKSM-Tools here!

v4.4.0 · Aug 3, 2017

Please fill this form!

What's new:

  • Added: Wireless legality checking. Tons of you asked me to add a legality checking feature in PKSM, and.. here it is. It's not inside PKSM though, because it uses an ad-hoc legality server called serveLegality, which is heavily based on PKHeX.Core. You can find out how to use it in the link!
  • Legality checking can be performed in the editor option of PKSM. A copy of the pokemon you want to check will be sent wirelessly to the server running on your PC and it will show basic or detailed legality infos.
  • Added: Wireless wondercard injection. Yep, I don't have to keep updating PKSM anytime a new wondercard is released. For now you can only send .wc6/.wc7 files, but wcfulls will be supported in the near future. You can find all the cross platform executables in the release zip file.
  • Added: Wireless storage. You can now send bulk .pk6/.pk7 files into a virtual storage to avoid injecting stuff in your main save file.
  • Added: Autoupdater. It will now get the latest release from github and install it.
  • Note: it doesn't check if the release being downloaded is the same you're running yet.
  • Added: Possibility to launch the game you opened with PKSM when you exit the application.
  • Added: now it prints the generations for the pkmns in the editor viewer.
  • Added: Allow species editing in the hex editor.
  • Added: Press X to switch from party to box and viceversa.
  • Added: Now shows version for the wondercard in the event details screen.
  • Added: whole lot of wondercards!
  • Fixed: possibly fixed the corrupted slots bug.
  • Fixed: now the yellow button imports region and console data, too.
  • Fixed: Wondercard lists refactored, now everything is in order.
  • Fixed: Switch the event database structure for gen7 from .wc7 to .wc7full.
  • Fixed: A valid Marshadow is now injectable in the generation option.
  • Fixed: Refactoring of multiple parts of the source code, to clean old code residuals.
  • Fixed: Now storage dumps have proper filenames updated.
  • Fixed: nickname flag issue when using the yellow button.
  • Fixed: nickname flag always set when generating a pkmn from the generation option.
  • Fixed: Compiled with latest ctrulib 1.3.0, citro3d 1.3.0 and devkitARM r47.

v4.3.0 · Jun 22, 2017

What's new in PKSM 4.3.0:

  • Added: Multilanguage support (thanks @Naxann!). PKSM has been translated in most of the major languages supported by the console, such as Italian, French, Spanish, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Simplified Chinese! Obviously, this couldn't happen without our foreigners contributors, which helped to translate in all the languages we devs don't speak.
  • Korean and Traditional Chinese translations are still missing, and Russian ones are messy, because they have not been trimmed to fit in the graphics. If you know how to help us, feel free to make a Pull Request!
  • Fonts are now optimized: we managed to bundle all the characters in a single place and save space, too: old builds were about 6MB in size, this is less than 4MB instead, saving space and memory while opened.
  • Font scripts are available in the source code!
  • All the bugs related to pokemon names, items and so on have been fixed, too. Now everything is properly rendered on screen.
  • You will notice some initial delay when opening your boxes with the Japanese language on: this is due to the font caching and everything will be smooth in a second or too.
  • Your language will be determined automatically on the first launch, but you can change it from the settings. It will be remembered the next time you open PKSM.
  • Items and moves in the editor list are now sorted in every language you will choose.
  • Added: new Save Info Editor proof-of-concept! It has been thought to be similar to the hex editor you can already use during pokemon editing.
  • It doesn't do much for now (I had not so time to work on it), but there will be tons of advantages in the future, such as bag item editing and similar!
  • Since it works with the single bytes and it can be customized in the code, the save editor will work with all the games supported from PKSM as for now. Some examples? You could now edit your TID and SID on gen4 games to abuse of the Cute Charm glitch without needing your PC (for both editing or RNG) to do it.
  • Pull requests are highly appreciated!
  • Added: Tons of changes and additions in the GUI! There's a pretty new main menu now, for both 3DS titles and DS titles. Other graphics changes will be explained in detail later.
  • Added: New wondercard details screen. Now those are taken from the wondercard file directly, making the external txt description files unuseful.
  • You can now see the wondercard title, OT, held item, met date, level and moves for every wondercard available in the built-in database. The game version related to each wondercard is still WIP.
  • For this reason, graphics for the wondercard injector are heavily changed.
  • From now, you can see details for multiple wondercard events. You will notice a tip in the bottom screen if an event has multiple wondercards in it, and you can see details for each of them pressing L/R.
  • Added: Rosalina-based Homebrew Launchers are now supported. You can find a rosalina compatible .3dsx build into the release zip attached at the bottom.
  • Added: Extra Storage dump. You can now dump the whole extra storage content into your SD card, at /3ds/data/PKSM/dump/storagedump_[DATE]. Every pokemon will be saved in a separate .pk7 file.
  • Added: PokéDex function. You can now see what you have caught or seen. This is available for every gen6+ game, and it's accessible from the extra storage screen.
  • Added: new banner audio (thanks @Tails32!)
  • Fixed: Current Handler and Held Trainer Friendship are now set to 0 while using the generation function.
  • Fixed: navigation is now possible with both pads (directional and circle), in case someone have one of the pads broken or malfunctional.
  • Fixed: Magearna and Marshadow now shows in the generation screen.
  • Fixed: Encryption Constant when generating a pokemon is now random. Spinda spots are now random, too.
  • Fixed: Pokedex Flags bug introduced in version 4.2.3 has been fixed. Now, pokedex flags are saved automatically when you do transfers from storage to box and box to box.
  • Removed: Mass Injector. While this has been removed (so as the various collections), the file from where the generated pokemons are taken is still accessible from PKSM.

Added: tons of gen7 wondercard added:

  • 0221 - JPN Egg Shiny Chance
  • 0222 - JPN Bewear
  • 0223 - Ash-hat Pikachu
  • 0233 - HK Shiny Tapu Koko
  • 0234 - Anime Steenee
  • 0235 - Anime Turtonator
  • 0236 - Anime Vulpix
  • 0599 - Bottle Cap
  • 1105 - Shiny Tapu Koko
  • 1107 - Alolan Vulpix
  • 1108 - Alolan Sandshrew
  • 1109 - Alolan Diglett
  • 1110 - Alolan Grimer
  • 1111 - KOR Egg Shiny Chance
  • 1112 - WCSK17 Mew
  • 1608 - Pidgeot-Steelixite
  • 1609 - Mawilite
  • 1610 - SM Rare Candy
  • 1611 - SM 4 Mega Stones
  • 1612 - SM PGL Prize
  • 1613 - SM PGL Prize
  • 1614 - SM PGL Prize
  • 1615 - SM PGL Prize

Added: gen6 wondercards added:

  • 0183 - Singa Volcanion

Added: DS wondercards added (the IDs are not the real ones, due to implementation):

  • 025 - Milos Island Tornadus
  • 026 - Kalita's Hydreigon
  • 027 - Spring 2012 Zekrom
  • 090 - Azure Flute (unofficial)

If that's not enough... Let's talk about PKSV 2.0.0:

  • PKSV is now built directly from PKSM source code, using an ad-hoc Makefile.
  • This means that PKSV gets all the graphic changes introduced in PKSM 4.3.0, such as multilanguage support.
  • Editing is unavailable as always (because of PKSV philosophy), though.
  • Even though editing is not there, you can still use the extra storage function with save functionalities enabled. This will make heavy breeders' life simple.

PKSV's separate repo will be closed, so you'll only be able to download it from the PKSM repo instead.

This update is really massive, and it counts about 200 commits made in a range of two months. Hopefully you will enjoy all the work and time that Naxann, dsoldier, all the translators and me dedicated to make this happen.

I would like to thank @Tobyheiam, @Tails32, @ShinyLuxray, @pass0418, @dsoldier, @Naxann and all the other countless people who helped in the translations!

v4.2.2 · Mar 24, 2017

This is a minor update, but seeing the high demand, I thought it needed a separate release. Also, there's a translation to other languages in progress that will come later in the future. What's new:

  • Gen VII Wondercard database updated (2017/03/24)
  • Added: 0220 - Shiny Tapu Koko
  • Added: 0224 - CoroCoro Charizard
  • Added: 0227 - Bestow Pikachu
  • Added: 0606 - Rocky Lycanroc
  • Added: 1605 - Mewtwoite X/Y
  • Added: 1606 - Mawilite
  • Added: 1607 - SM Rare Candy
  • Gen V wondercard database updated: Liberty Pass (it's located at 000 even though it should be at 2046).

v4.2.0 · Feb 5, 2017

What's new?:

  • Added: Almost the totality of a pokemon's data can now be fully edited. The easiest way to do this was by adding a "hex" editor screen that allows you to see with your eyes what happens when you edit your stuffs. You can now fully edit things like:
  • Encryption constant
  • TID
  • SID
  • PID
  • Contest values (Cool, Beauty, ...)
  • Ribbons (yeah, each of them)
  • Move PP (there's no effective check for legal values with those, so be careful, the limit is globally set to 40)
  • PP Ups
  • Held Trainer Nickname
  • Held Trainer infos, like Affection, Intensity, ...
  • Original Trainer infos, like the ones mentioned above
  • Fullness, Enjoyment
  • Met (and Egg) Day, Month, Year (no real checks for these too, so be careful when setting your dates).
  • All the values not mentioned above (but still existent), like MarkValues, Experience, Regions and weird stuff like that, can still be edited from within the app. I added a sort of godmode that unlocks all the checks letting you do all sort of vandalisms. This is unlockable by entering a touch sequence.
  • Added: support for Japanese/Korean chars in the viewer.
  • Added: fast scroll mode in _extra storage_.
  • Wondercard database updated to 2017/02/05.
  • Fixed: the HT name is no longer filled with random chars.
  • Fixed: Pumpkaboo, Arceus, Genesect and Silvally can now be taken safely from the extra storage.
  • Fixed: nicknames/OT names no longer erased if you don't put anything if attempting to edit them.
  • Fixed: gen6 living dex have correct relearn moves now.
  • Fixed: the application doesn't crash anymore if you have corrupted elements in your save.

_Huge thanks to all the people involved in PKHeX. All the offsets come from there._

PKSV and servepkx are included in the zip release file, as well.

_I'm NOT responsible in any way if you ruin your stuff by using the new features or the already available ones_. This should be already known but it's good to make it clear.

v4.1.1 · Jan 27, 2017

In this version there's a bug that prevents edited mons to be trade legal. Wait for a fix in the new version.

4.1.1 changelog:

The function that allows you to fix the red X flag on a gen6 element has been removed from the common use. It'll be re-added when gen6->gen7 transfer will be fully documented. Thanks @SciresM for clarifications.

  • Added: DPPt support for mystery gift injection. Finally, this required months to come; I hope you will enjoy it!
  • If you're on HBL: you need to trigger PokeTransfer to be able to use DS games.
  • Added: Full form support. Thanks @Anty-Lemon, who joined the dev team since this release!
  • Added: Form editor. Tapping the sprite of a Pokemon in the edit menu will open it on the top screen.
  • Added: Red X flag to mark stuff transferred from gen6 to gen7 before the official time to do it.
  • Do you have to worry about it? NO! It's just a friendly reminder that those elements have to be fixed with the next update of the application.
  • Added: Gold Bottle Caps are now supported, granting stats to be realistic.
  • Added: ZL/ZR support for scrolling extra storage boxes (new3DS only).
  • Fixed: made impossible to directly edit or move elements stored in battle boxes.
  • Fixed: A few menu bugs which counted A inputs twice.
  • Fixed: Legality issues with handling trainer.
  • Fixed: A couple bugs involving withdrawing gen7 Pokemon into gen6 save files.
  • Fixed: View TID instead of VTID in gen7.

  • Updated: moved to buildtools (thanks @Favna) and trimmed loads of stuffs: the application is now ~ 600Kb smaller.
  • Updated: Wondercards database (01/25/2017).
  • Updated: python servepkx is more efficient (thanks @hellupline)
  • Removed: built-in updater. Use FBI's TitleDB function, QR codes or manual installation.

I'm probably missing something. Trust me, this release is literally huge.

v4.1.0 · Jan 26, 2017

v4.0.3 · Jan 12, 2017

Temporarily disabled party editing. At least I'll not get flooded with answers that has been answered tons of times.

Also, make sure you actually read 4.0.2 changelog.

  • Added: Wireless injection! You can now inject .pk6/.pk7 files from your pc, that will be accepted by a server running in PKSM. You can choose between 2 different clients on your PC, depending on your setup.
  • servepkx (java): java client with a GUI, courtesy off @Slownic. Instructions here
  • servepkx (python): command line python client. Instructions here
  • Server supports queue. I managed to inject the Whole living dex in one shot. Speed often is very high, but sometimes you'll have to wait a couple seconds between 10 injections or so.
  • Added: Egg RNG seed. You can see it by tapping the bottom bar in the viewer.
  • Fixed: Gen6 database being fucked up.
  • Fixed: Now give save's gender when giving your information to a Pokemon through the information button (the purple one).

You can find servepkx in the PKSM.zip attached here. PKSV build with RNG seed is also bundled.

v4.0.2 · Jan 11, 2017

v4.0.1 · Jan 9, 2017

What's new?

  • Hopefully fixed the bug that caused to show Bulbasaurs in the PC. It was caused by the stats being sorted in the wrong way, and also that problem has been fixed.
  • Generator improved. Generated elements will be online-legal, too.
  • This applies to the mass injector, too, due to the shared database.
  • Now the viewer show VTID (Visible TID) instead of standard TID, while in gen7.
  • Added support for PSV/ESV in the viewer.
  • Added support for save's (V)TID/SID and TSV, in the viewer.
  • Added button to give your save's TID, SID and language to a box element.
  • Removed options to generate/clone in party, to avoid weird glitches in game.
  • It could happen that an Alola-Form can revert into normal-form if edited in the party. Please notice me if this behaviour still happens.
  • Simplified exiting from the app.
  • Wondercards updated to 08/01/2017 (Sapporo PC Alolan Vulpix added).
  • Graphic improvements and typos fixed.
  • New banner
  • Optimizations and a big bunch of minor things.

Installation

Same installation method as the previous release, but there will be an additionalasset more to download. The app will grab it automatically, but if for some reasons it can't download it, you can check the previous release note to see where to add manually the required files.

PKSV

What's PKSV? (<- repo here)

I decided to create a stripped PKSM version to allow people who don't need modifications to their games to easily see their save's content, directly from the console.

It currently support gen6+ and is designed to make TSV exchanger, breeders and that kind of players to do their checks very quickly, compared to PKSM.

PKSV has really short loading time and doesn't allow saving progresses, but it mantains and condense PKSM's interface perfectly, to please the user's eyes.

I also included PKSV in this release, you can find it in the zip attached here.

Let me know if you find this application useful!

v4.0.0 · Dec 31, 2016

_PSA_: Team editing is a bit buggy, don't use it until I release a patch

What's new

Changelog from 3.1.2 to 4.0.0:

  • Completely redesigned GUI, courtesy off @dsoldier. It's inspired on how SM looks. We tried to make it more easy-to-use and beautiful as possible, and added _tons of animations_, from sprites to pointers. Also backgrounds are animated, in most of the app functions.
  • New bank mechanism, more beautiful and easy-to-use compared to the one in 3.1.2.

  • Added: additional submenu with 5 different options, before the real editor.
  • Added: team editing and cloning.
  • Added: pokemon generation (it takes the generated element from the app's built-in database). You can trigger it while being in the submenu (it will overwrite your selected element), or pressing A in a blank spot, to generate a brand new element.

Installation

If you already installed the 4.0.0alpha: remove your /3ds/data/PKSM/additionalassets/ folder before installing, in order to avoid edge-case graphic glitches.

Download and install the latest release (4.0.0) with your favourite installation method. When booted, the application will download automatically the required additional assets to work.

If you're using Homebrew Launcher, make sure you have it updated to the latest version.

If you're using Homebrew Launcher and you don't have the latest firmware on your console, you may want to use ctr-httpwn to get internet access and let the application download everything correctly. If you can't still download them through the application, you can put them manually in the SD card, putting the additionalassets folder in your SD card, located at /3ds/data/PKSM/. To avoid troubles, the final result should be a folder filled with assets, located at /3ds/data/PKSM/additionalassets/.
